Here's the bottom line. Ya got caught in Hopewell territory because ya didn't abide by the speed limit and the other jurisdictions are not enforcing the stated speed limits. Thanks to AAA for alerting the public on Hopewell safety. Drive the speed limit people or take another route if you don't want to be safe. Ya know it'd be really interesting to see how many ticket receivers pull off and run back up over the speed limit up the road again.

Yes, and as stated by Councilor Bujikawski in this article: http://progress-index.com/news/city-council-o ....
We need the speeders to pay for the renovations of the Beacon Theater. So please keep on speeding so that Hopewell can renovate a Theater that no one wants or needs.
The I-295 project will know be known as the Beacon Theater renovation fund.

Now everyone who takes 295 and passes thru Hopewell, who might stop to by gas, maybe stay over night, or just visit our city, will get smart and take 95 to bypass Hopwell.
Nice going Mr Sheriff !

Can anyone provide a reason why people should be allowed to drive over 80 MPH. I find it hard to believe that people are driving 80 MPH so they can quickly get to Hopewell as their destination for overnight stay....Give me a break!!!! No one is speeding to stay in a Hopewell Motel/Hotel. Those establishments are perpetually filled by military personnel who don't need to get on 295 to get to those hotels.

The argument that no one will stop at the Hopewell Hotels is hilarious. Who comes to Hopewell to stay in a hotel? No one but military peopel with weekend passes stay in those places.

Here is a bright idea for all you morons. DON'T GO OVER 79 MPH and don't get a ticket. And once you get caught speeding and convicted, you have no say in what the city does with your money. Just like idiots who play the lottery. If you want to volunteer free tax money to the government play the lottery or drive 80 MPH on 295. Your Choice.

"These tickets will impact Hopewell Tourism"...Give me a Break. So Stupid. I am sure Hopewell's booming tourism business will never recover from this. hahahahahah

If this goes through and the deputies stop their patrols then we'll know it was all about the money and not about safety!

Will the Beacon still get their millions if this goes through?

"When the odor of this amendment hits the Governors desk, he will wipe it away" said Sheriff Anderson.(Or something like that) Really? Must be some kind of "political backroom deal" going on to make sure it gets wiped away. If it is all about safety then why is Hopewell projectinf $1.4 millon dollars in revenue for the next budget? Why does Hopewell count on this revenue? What happened to a transparent form of government? Wouldn't Hopewell be better served by Anderson dawgs helping the HPD?

Come on people.. yeah it generates money but REALLY?!?! SLOW THE HELL DOWN! If you are going over 80 a state trooper will pull you in a heart beat... simple, obey the laws, all of you crying about how its just for revenue, how would you feel if a driver going 90 mph lost control and caused an accident killing you or someone you know? Yall are idiots.
