Hypocrite Repubs just hate big government in their life until there is something in it for them.
Not a Repub, but conservative. BTW, I have paid for my own medical insurance since I was 23, That's when I was Honorably Discharged from the NAVY.

Now I pay close to the tune of $1200 month for my family plan. Under the exchange, my same plan would have been near $1800. Real help Obamacare has been.

Shining Through: Republican Talking Point Destroyed as Seattle Goes Solar

Republicans like exceptions rather than the rule.

It’s their forte, if you will. For Republicans to win over their base with their increasingly unpopular views, they need to find a way to convince their supporters that they are in the majority rather than the minority. Their strategy of choice over the years has been to locate and spotlight one example that they feel can totally undermine an otherwise sensible viewpoint. The amount of examples they use is simply staggering and is done on nearly every issue. They will find that one scientist who denies climate change. They will find that one person who abuses the food stamp system. And of course, they will try to find Affordable Care Act horror stories, even though these are nearly impossible to find and when they are found, do not stand up to scrutiny.

Of course, there has been pushback from the Seattle area energy companies. They have argued that if more people go solar then they will lose money and to make up for that loss they will have to pass off higher costs to their consumers. That will then cause more and more consumers to go solar and therefore there will ultimately be a day where energy companies won’t have the needed finances available to maintain and improve existing infrastructure as well as building new facilities. Despite this argument, more and more Seattle residents are, in fact, turning to solar power. They have been undeterred by Republican talking points and energy company fear-mongering. They know that if a “dreary” country like Germany can succeed in using solar energy then there’s no reason that their beloved overcast Seattle cannot succeed as well. Once Seattle goes solar, Republicans should realistically abandon their beloved talking point that solar power doesn’t work in cloudy areas. However knowing how today’s modern Republican Party works, they will probably double down on this claim despite all evidence to the contrary.

Because Republicans know if they lose Seattle to solar their entire argument is shot.

Ron Paul: US 'hiding truth' on downed Malaysian plane

Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) accused the U.S. government of "hiding" the truth behind the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, which crashed in eastern Ukraine last month.

Paul is the father of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who has said he is weighing a 2016 bid for president. The younger Paul has faced criticism from other Republicans over some of his foreign policy views.

After the crash, Ron Paul initially suggested the U.S. was partly responsible for the downed plane and accused Western media and the government of spreading "propaganda."

Totally Not Racist GOP Flyer Invites People to Learn About the KKK (Video)

A fundraiser for the Garvin County, Oklahoma, GOP is causing an uproar in the Sooner state. The flyer for the “Bean Feed” fundraiser, prominently displays a dancing bean wearing a sombrero in the top left corner. But if that wasn’t enough to inspire Tea Party members and assorted racists to attend, the flyer promises this:

Great Fun and Fellowship: Discuss issues with fellow conservatives and find out some things that you may not know about the NRA, Planned Parenthood, Ku Klux Klan, and other organizations.
Also likely to be missing from the Garvin County Republicans’ discussion is this inconvenient fact: most white supremacists who have sought political office in recent years have run as Republicans.
Here’s a report about the Bean Feed brouhaha from KFOR:

Three Charts To Email To Your Right-Wing Brother-In-Law (Updated)

Problem: Your right-wing brother-in-law is plugged into the FOX-Limbaugh lie machine, and keeps sending you emails about “Obama spending” and “Obama deficits” and how the “stimulus” just made things worse.

Problem: Your right-wing brother-in-law is plugged into the FOX-Limbaugh lie machine, and keeps sending you emails about "Obama spending" and "Obama deficits" and how the "stimulus" just made things worse.

Solution: Here are three "reality-based" charts to send to him. These charts show what actually happened.

Spending
Government spending increased dramatically under President Bush. It has not increased much under President Obama. This is just a fact.

Bush 88% increase
Obama 3.78% increase

Deficits
Note that this chart starts with Clinton's last budget year for comparison.
The numbers in these two charts come from Budget of the United States Government: Historical Tables Fiscal Year 2015. They are just the amounts that the government spent and borrowed, period, Anyone can go look them up. People who claim that Obama "tripled the deficit" or increased it or anything of the sort are either misled or are trying to mislead. President Obama inherited a budget deficit of $1.4 trillion from President Bush's last budget year and annual budget deficits have gone down dramatically since.

The Stimulus and Jobs
In this chart, the RED lines on the left side – the ones that keep doing DOWN – show what happened to jobs under the policies of Bush and the Republicans. We were losing lots and lots of jobs every month, and it was getting worse and worse. The BLUE lines – the ones that just go UP – show what happened to jobs when the stimulus was in effect. We stopped losing jobs and started gaining jobs, and it was getting better and better.

The leveling off on the right side of the chart shows what happened as the stimulus started to wind down: job creation leveled off at too low a level.

It looks a lot like the stimulus reversed what was going on before the stimulus. We have gone from losing around 850,000 jobs a month to gaining over 200,000 jobs a month.

Conclusion: THE STIMULUS WORKED BUT WAS NOT ENOUGH!

More False Things

Why This Matters

These things really matter. We all want to fix the terrible problems the country has. But it is so important to know just what the problems are before you decide how to fix them. Otherwise the things you do to try to solve those problems might just make them worse – just as laying off government workers in a recession makes unemployment worse.
If we get tricked into thinking that Obama has made things worse and that we should go back to what we were doing before Obama – tax cuts for the rich, giving giant corporations and Wall Street everything they want, when those are the things that caused the problems in the first place – then we will be in real trouble.

Oil Industry Denies Climate Change But Demands Taxpayer Money For Climate Change Protection

In Louisiana this past week, it was reported that a Halliburton-owned business, Multi-Chem, that mixes carcinogen-laden fracking and oilfield chemicals just received a $1.8 million tax break from the state after the plant blew up in 2011 nearly destroying a nearby town. It was a great deal for war criminal Dick Cheney’s former company that not only got nearly two million dollars from taxpayers, it received an expedited environmental permit from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) to build a new plant that was granted without public notice or hearing. The company did receive a fine from the OSHA ($49,000). Multi-Chem now demands an LDEQ permit to discharge waste water from its facility into local waterways.

Americans pay an inflated price for oil and gas, pay for the effects of global climate change, pay oil companies billions in free subsidies, give tax breaks to oil companies that foul sources of drinking water, and now will likely pay to protect a tar sand refinery from rising sea levels. What is telling, is that even when the people do scream it is not their place to increase oil profits, pay to clean up oil spills, or pay to protect oil refineries from climate change, Republicans keep writing government checks and call the people un-American because that taxpayer money comes back to Republicans in the form of campaign donations to keep taxpayer money flowing to what Republicans consider the real America; the oil industry.
