Websters dictionary is used to define words as used in everyday language.
Certain professions will have their own unique language such as medicine and law.
Websters will not have the same definition of "insane" as the legal system will, and there are legal and clinical terms and words which don't even appear in Websters.
When talking about court cases it is the legal definitions that count, just as when talking medicine it is the clinical definition you go by?
