A lot of lives are at risk when there is a police chase. I think the reason for the chase should have been reported. And why did they not catch them? Why didn't the Ashby police notify NH police that they were now being chased back into NH where it started?

I am to understand he was a suspect in a breaking and entering up in New Hampshire. Sounds guilty to me. ABC, how do you know Ashby didn't notify New Ipswich PD that the truck was back in their state? Im sure they did. As for the why they werent caught by Ashby officers....what do you expect them to do, shoot out the tires?

Just another sign of the times we live in.
Do ya think maybe they could have relayed the plate number to N.H. and found out who the owner was{assuming the plates wer not stolen} and had the cops break off the chase before killing some innocent person.
If anybody is familiar with the back roads of Ashby, you would not want to even do the speed limit on most of them, let alone conduct a high speed chase.

Did you even read the article? The chase originated in NH..and the chase was broken off after it re-entered new hampshire, where it probably was continued by new hampshire cops. What are you...one of those people who think the police should never chase a suspect and just let every one who runs from the police get away so they can continue to take advantage of the innocent?

What makes you think they did notify NH cops? I'm betting they didn't because it might have made for a better comment from Barney Fife than they were trying to get away. I'm betting he would have said we notified NH police and they continued the persuit.

What is more dangerous:

1. Fully marked patrol cars chasing a suspect with emergency lighting and sirens activated to warn the general public

or

2. Bullets being fired from one moving object at another moving object with the intent of blowing a tire so that the vehicle swerves out of control before coming to a stop.

It would make no sense for Ashby not to tell New Hampshire that the vehicle was back in their state? New Hampshire police are the ones who requested Ashby continue the pursuit in Massachusetts...Do you really think they simply chased them for a few minutes and when the car went into New Hampshire they said "Oh they got away...But lets make sure they get away and not tell New Ipswich PD where they car they were just chasing is now."

Maybe cops shouldn't be able to chase people. If they refuse to stop then that should be it...wait until someone breaks into your home, steals your car or hurts someone you love.

I guess Ashby has not heard about flagmen yet, and still pay top dollar for police officers to direct the few cars that travel through town.

psssstt...what do Flaggers have to do with a guy in a truck, evading police?

Did you think that in this case, a Flagger, in the right place at the right time, may have been able to leap onto the windshield of said speeder, in effect distracting said driver to the point that he crashed into a tree, thus catapulting said Flagger into a cushy, mossey clump of grass which would enable him to not only escape injury, but apprehend said perp simultaneously?

If Massachusetts would fully fund Quinn Bill educational incentives, chases such as this would allow Mass cops to use their superior intelects to catch the bad guys.
