Almost looks like somebody paid somebody off. This stimulous money looks like one of the biggest frauds on the American public. Even bigger than 9/11.

As I see it, the current troubles of the economies of very many countries was started by many people in the USA not paying their debts, probably because they had lost their jobs.
..... Why did they lose their jobs? Because their firms probably decided to have their products made in Asia instead of locally, because wages there were much lower than they are here. Then these firms export these products to us here and local buyers buy them because they are cheaper than locally-made products of similar quality.- Why could they do that? because of freed trade and globalization agreements that prohibit the tariffs that were used to protect local employees from exactly that kind of outsourcing to Asia and other countries. The result? Calls for "Buy (locally)" ..... As for the stimulus money packages provided by taxpayers: They are intended to keep businesses from closing down because of insufficient sales, and therefore to prevent even more of that (massive?) unemployment that caused the economic troubles. Unfortunately these troubles can be expected to get even worse in the future because customers will buy even fewer of the locally-produced items. |
