Car Parking in front of property

Why do you think you have a right to park in front of your property?

I have the same problem. Though the person is a a resident. The car has flat tires. It has been parked for more than 3 weeks. No one has moved it. By the way did I mention; it's parked incorrectly, taking up two spaces. Some of the residents in the apartment building say there is no insurance for the vehicle. Is there anyway the police can run a true insurance information, because I know for a fact some people use fake insurance info. at the motor vehicle dept. in order to obtain plates. Any info. will be appreciated.

It's like if you park in designated 24 hr. commuter lot, the police might question you, and who really needs a hassel. so like , during this phase of the economy with forclosures forcing people to move a lot are in transition which adds to the problem insumuch as some of them might not be able to find alternative housing quickly. I am glad that towns have a 48 hr. rule, cause that seems reasonable to me, although it would be nice if one didn't have to be so afraid of getting hasseled. but as I say, it's the business cycle, things will eventually improve, some day these same hordes will no longer wander our streets aimlessly without hope.

Some of you are such jackasses. It may not be a legal right, but it's common sense and courtesy to leave parking spots for the people that live in a house, especially when the spots in front of your own house are open. You wouldn't like it happening to you, so why do it to someone else?

I'm having the same problem now and it is absolutely ridiculous. My car is similar to the one that's parking, and they'll sometimes get confused. They also seem to look just to see when I move so they can take the spot right in front of my house. It's a pain in the ass when moving things out of my car as there is no reason someone should actively seek the spot. The license plate is from a different state too. I'm guessing someone is staying over at another person's house around the holidays, so why not park in front of their house, or even in the parking circle 10 feet away from my house that wouldn't inconvenience anybody?

Hopefully they stop this nonsense soon, or I'll have to wait and have a talk with these people.

I live on a cul-de-sac in a quiet residential neighborhood. With no other cars on the street, my neighbor parks his cars - yes, plural, in front of my house rather than in front of his. Very annoying.

You guys who vandalize cars are idiots. The car can be moved but not your house. They know where you live, morons! Think about that as the rock comes crashing through your bay window one night.

I also have been annoyed to find my neighbor parked in front of my home on days where I had it was incovenient to me. Especially when the rest of our street parking spaces were free.
I decided to write a note, asking politely if they could park their car elsewhere. And they were polite enough to respond in a positive way. They have since parked elsewhere.

Look I know people park on the streets and I have done it myself when I go visit others, etc. But I have stupid neighbors in one house next to me who are renting a house. They have three cars, and they usually have people over. Now they always park one car on the driveway, one in front of their house and one in front of my house, because I happen to be next to them. There is tons of parking in my area, but they always choose the parking in front of my house because it is convenient. There is parking on side streets that is very close to their rental but they of course choose not to, and they also smoke and always leave cigarette butts. I have mentioned it to them but of course that didn't do anything to them. At this point I can never park in front of my house because one of their car is always park there. This is just wrong. I don't care that they own 3 or fifty cars, but why are they bothering me. They chose 3 cars and they should find a way to park their cars. I am to the point where I am going to buy a crappy car just to park there so that they can't park there.

These people do not care and are a neighbor's nightmare.

Marc, I agree it is not a right, but when stupid neighbors park their constantly and they know don't you think it is wrong? Why should I be hassled by people who chose to own 3-4-5 cars. The people who bought them should figure out a way to park their stupid cars where they shouldn't incovenience others. Now from time to time if they park there it is fine, no one owns the streets but everyday, com'n?

I believe that there should be laws for no parking in front of people houses when you have alot of space in front of your know house and driveway. I've ask my neighbor son and the owner nicely can they park in front of there own house and driveway they said yes but the son keeps parking there like if he trying to get someting started. I know that the street is public parking but not when you have alot space in front of your own house and driveway. So someone told me to get a "permit" or "no parking" painted on the side of the your curb since you paid for it to stop them from parking there. So you can get alot of advice from your city council or law enforcement of who can and can not park in front of your house trust me.

Any car that has been parked without ever moving for a long period of time should be reported to the local township police. Chances are that such vehicles most likely don't have insurance on it; but in today's crazy world, one has to be safe than sorry; so report it, as you never know what could be inside. It's against the law for commercial vehicles to be parked in the street; they must be parked either in the driveway, garage, or a legitimate car lot. As far as 1 neighbor having too many vehicles, that's a tough call; but you can check with the local township on any rules. Good luck.

I live in a development one house from the corner it is a busy street, the neighbor right across from me has a driveway to fit six cars, and has worker coming and parking right directly across from my driveway and it is very difficult to get out without coming very close almost hitting the cars and makes it difficult to see if there is a car coming around the corner everyone has to stop to let others threw i have asked them nicely a number of times to leave a space so i can get out , i had knee replacement and it is hard to twist and turn, they were good for a week , now it is all over again and sometimes they have seven eight cars lined up on the street the neighbor next to him has the same problem with them and do not have a space in front of their house if someone might want to visit , i have a severly handicapped person in the house and have a handicap van parked in front of my house they park even in front of that so the nurse or doctor has no access to my home they have to park up the street , they park a junk truck out there and the others cars are a wreck also not a plesant view, they dont seem to have any consideration for anyone here they are living there about a year, and have everyone aggravated plus if they have water bottles they just throw them in the street , there is garbage flying around from them that the rest of us are picking up or old newspapers , we pick it up because it makes a sight of our homes which all of us keep very neat. sorry this is long but i needed to vent . sometimes they leave their driveway empty and also park on the street its a mess
