Last year Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt and his wife stopped there. His wife loves it and stops every time she is in town. Good job Heoklele's.

I have eaten donuts as well as other pastries at Hoeckle's for many years..I have always found the quality & taste to be excellent. However, I have to say, I much preferred the "Old Hoeckle's" on the Square to the "new & improved" version on the by-pass. There was charm & character at the older, smaller Hoeckle's..and I personally miss that in the new building. Now it seems just like any other donut shop.

I guess everyone has their own opinion about it. I can see what your saying about the charm and character at the old bakery. People think they have changed their recipes and they haven't. Everything is the same. Their is just a lot more people working at the new bakery. Not all of them have good people skills. The old Hoeckele's building was built in 1937. It needed repairs done to it. It just made more sense to rebuild. And the new bakery has a lot more space in it.

Changing times do suck. remeber when you could drive down st. Joe and only go straight or make a left? How about when a&w was down on hwy 61 south? the movie theater played the goonies? How about when there was a carnival that would come to the Perry Plaza? how about the old Plaza Rexall Drug? remeber hands across america on hwy 61?

I thought you were new in town? How do you know that their recipes have not changed and that they get more buisness? I think you work their or either own the place. Their icing isn't the same as it use to be, it use to taste more like the kind Grandma makes now it taste like Walmart icing. I have to say they are always very friendly when I've been in there.

Its the same icing. Why would they changed stuff just because they moved. And your right I am not new in town. Yeah your right I am not new in town. I wanted to get a topic going so I lied and said I was new in town.

Try going through the drive-thru and NOT having to repeat your order EVERYTIME you go up to the window. Is it hard to remember an order of donut holes and two glazed donuts when you order. Come on, I get that every time I go there, and they STILL have to ask me twice. I guess I should be glad the workers they have are there instead of a hospital I might have to stay at.

Is it really that big of a deal to repeat your order. And thats lame that you said that you should be glad the workers work there instead of a hospital you might be staying at. Talking through a drive thru box and talking face to face are different. I've worked at places before that have drive thrus and half the people don't speak loud enough so maybe thats your problem.
