can anyone tell me about the quality of martial arts schools in perryville? I want to learn reality-based skills from a true master of both the inner and outer game.

...in Perryville was an instructor named Ninja Dan,
but has long since retired. Even now as an old man
this guy can still round kick the tallest of men.
He was very disciplined and never had to prove
his abilities because most folks knew better.
It's a shame he doesn't teach no more.

My child goes to the Grand Master Hans place in the plaza. He's learned a lot and loves going, but sometimes I think they rush them into testing just to get the money and to keep the kids coming. It seems like every time we turn around he's ready to test for the next level, and at testing I've never seen anyone turned down on a belt promotion no matter how bad they were. I'd like to see them become more strict! Just my opinion.

Academy of Martial Arts. Meets in the park center every Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. This is a more self defense style class. It don’t have many forms and don’t push people to test for belts.. He wont test people unless they are ready. The guy who runs it is Matt Wright he just opened a school in Cape Girardeau also.

I would recommend ultimate tae kwon do (formerly moo sul kwan) they are top notch instructors.they offer jiu jitsu as well. I go to a MSK school in jackson for the hapkido and judo but as far ad perryville goes ultimate TKD would be your best optipn in my personal opinion ( no offense meant to any from other schools)

Sorry to say but in today's world you don't need no martial arts, just get a gun and no one will fuck with you. Just get a little simple 22 handgun and learn how to use it. For example, look at the cops? they are trained professional people and they carry more then a gun. POW! and don't start no shit and there won't be none. peace

You recommend this for men? Women? Kids? Or all? What age range do you see doing this?

Show a young lady martial arts and you give her self confidence and strength.
Hand her a gun and you give her a false sense of security. Most attacks happen so quickly there is barely time to react, pulling a weapon takes time.
More then you'd believe Wyatt.
You and your friends should mock up an attack at 15ft and see if they'd get you before you could "draw"

Martial Arts is a lot more than self defense and being a bad $ss! A good Dojo teaches about cofidence, ballance, desapline, and many more possitive traits.

I wouldn't take my dog to ultimate TKD unless you like backstabbing . There's no doubt that there are a lot of people that go there that are in a " click" but none of my family will ever go there after dealing with them in the past.

"In a click"? Seriously? You are talking about the wrong school or you are the competition of UTKD...that's the only way you could have anything bad to say about them. We have heard their competition try to bash them. That shows you what they teach at the competition.

I have no reason to try another school. I am 100% happy where my son is at. Others can do as they please.
