We will close the Diner on Dec 31. It will reopen during the first week of Jan. under new ownership and management. No, we did not go broke. I wanted to tell the story before all the rumors get started. The gentleman that owns the building decided not to put any more money into the business, so he leased it to people from Ill that have Tuscany steak houses. I wish them all the best.

I want to thank all of the people of Perryville that have supported us and given us a chance. May you all have a very blessed Christmas. I am in hopes that the new operators of the Diner will retain the current employees. They are the best in the world. I love all of them and wish the very best for them. If anyone has any remarks or questions, please direct them to me, boss9009@live.com instead of making remarks here in this forum. If you don't know what the truth is, don't spread rumors and gossip.

Again, thanks to all of our loyal customers, and most of all, to my loyal and faithful employees.

I sincerely hate to hear this...the businesses previously at the diner in the past have had a run of bad luck but I really enjoyed eating at the Diner now.
When we were in there the last couple of times I was really impressed with the staff. They helped each other out and we had wonderful service and good food!!
Bad news, I hate to hear it!! Best of luck to the employees!
And I will refrain to comment on Mr. Browns business tactics at the request of the manager who started this thread....but may everyone who reads this remember how Mr.Brown continually puts people out of jobs and has now shut the doors (once again) on a nice little diner!

That owner can't seem to do anything right. He even has a kid with a former employee that he doesn't take care of. No, I am not that former employee. Think the boys name is Cooper.

Need to get your facts straight...the father was some Turkish dude who managed the place a while back. Yes, the boys name is Cooper, you have that right. He paid the mother off one lump sum not to have anything to do with the kid.

Sorry to say but something is a miss here. I called the Tyscany Steak Houses in Illinois and spoke the owner. He stated that he was not coming to Perryville and opening up any restaurant here.

I ate there twice & it was messed up both time. I figured it was a new rest. the 1st go around so I'd give em another shot. the food was messed up again, plus instead of onion rings, i got fries, and when i asked why, the kid in the back told the waitress "cuz we were out of OR" I mean, shouldn't they maybe have asked me what I wanted instead? oh well, water under the bridge.

It is spelled Tuscany Steak House, and there are 3 in Ill. Get your facts and spelling right. When the Diner reopens, go in and ask the new Operator.

I would not believe anything that the landlord of that building says!
He is the only one to blame for the restaurant being such a joke.

I wish good luck to the people who are giving up the diner . I think everyone knew when you started that Mr. Brown would never let anyone build up to good of a business with out having his hand out . I only ate there a couple of times but it was really good food both times . Best wishes and good luck to you and the new people . I wonder if they know the history of Mr. Brown and that building and his greed ?

I deeply appreciate your best wishes for myself and the employees. They are the best, by far. Without their dedication and faithfulness, the Diner would not have made it as long as we did. I only wish the afore post would check their facts before making statements. We closed this evening at 10PM for that last time as the business known as "Fifty-One Diner" Once again, I want to thank all of the great folks that gave us their business, and ofcourse to the great employees that made everything work. Take Good Care and God Bless Always.

If you wish to debate the subject, contact me off of this post. boss9009@live.com You will see, you are relying on gossip only, not facts. There is so much gossip and false statements in this. That is why I have always made my ID known.
