Hey everyone, I grew up in bel air and I am looking to move into Aberdeen. There are some homes I have been looking at around the intersection of 462 Paradise Rd, and 132 Bel Air av. Is this one of the higher or lower crime areas for aberdeen? Can someone fill me in on what areas are good and bad for aberdeen.

Paradise rd is pretty quiet. Bel Air Ave is ok, their both main streets here in aberdeen. Areas to avoid i think would be swan meadows, north deen. A lot of nice townhomes and houses off Bush Chapel. |

I would agree...stay away from swan meadows and north dean. The outskirts of aberdeen are fine, even in town around law and rogers are good. I lived in aberdeen for many years, am now a very happy Rising Sun person.

Thanks guys, I am looking at one of those old Victorian homes around there. The one I am looking at is right on the corner of the 2 roads I listed. That eliminates one of my two worries, the other is how much energy this old house is going to guzzle. Any additional input around that area would still be appreciated though.
It's a shame that Aberdeen and Havre de Grace arn't participating in this website www.crimereports.com |

I live in Swan Meadows and will agree with the comments to avoid that area. Basically anything on that side of 40! I will have to say that things have quieted down a bit since most of the trouble makers have all gotten pregnant and had babies! It is mostly teens that cause all of the aggrivation, sad to say.

Best place I can think of would be on Post Road. Contrary to popular belief about Post Road, there is hardly any crime and no gangs that I know of in that area, because I have lived here all my life.
The ONLY place I would advise staying away from.... actually, I cannot think of any. I have a friend who works for the police, and he says that the worse crime they have (that is done here) is speeding. Once in a while we have a body turn up (like one did in the woods about 1000 feet from my house), but that is mainly crime being 'imported' from Baltimore City. |

Are you referring to the road that meets Stepney Road? A friend of mines cousin was just murdered there. Found her body in a sleeping bag. And people do speed through there pretty quick. But other than that it seems fine; oh and I knew of a couple of hardcore crackheads up in that neighborhood next to the three way stop too.

aberdump is an ok place.being close to the base,it really is surprising the crime rate isn't higher.i grew up on rock road, not bad, course now there are town homes in the old field.had some black white tensions growing up,but we are all like best friends now.
i think anywhere in that area will be fine.like the one guy stated about the women that was found.those things happen everywhere anymore, well always have.i currently reside in nc,place called salisbury, basically the same town with an accent.most areas are ok,you can drive around and pretty much tell where the bad places are, just common sense.i plan on moving back home before i die,and it will be right in that area. |
