first of all, their was 4 other guys with charlie brown and all of them had weapons. two was on each side of the door while charlie was tryin to beat it down. collin didnt mean to kill him. all of yall act like collin had some futuristic gun capable of seeing thru doors. his fired shot was right beside the door knob. if you want to shoot someone in the head while their pounding your door your gonna aim high somewhat by the peephole right? charlie just happened to be standing on the ground, not the porch. what if they would of broken into his house and hurt him real bad or even took his life. i never wish death upon anyone but come on people think it thru. he went to his apartment asking for it. im just sayin put yourself in his shoes regardless of the non sense of what other people have to say about him.
its a sad situation and my prayers go out to both families
It is not a question of where the bullet hit charley but that the gun was pointed and fired. FACT!

those other guys sure didn't try to hurt collin! even when pointed the gun to there head. He did end up with two more felonies. And he is lucky there were not other charges filed.

Where does self defense come in when a door is closed and locked and someone shoots through a closed door? What ever happened to calling the police first? If both men were on drugs, how does the police dept excuse not taking a drug screen on the murderer also?.The police dept sounds like a mickey mouse group of so called cops and the DA should have been Colin's defense lawyer instead of Jeremy's voice.Drugs are everywhere, most commonly started through the many crooked doctors who prescibe them in the beginning. To the person who wrote in saying that Colin shot at the doorknob Get real any bullet can kill you,it can rip through an artery and kill you just as quick as one to the chest or abdomen. No one has the right to shoot another human being unless they are face to face with someone else yielding a gun.His spitting on Jeremy and then threatening the other witness's doesn't sound like he was in fear of his life.Good one though.Prayers go out to Jeremy's mom and family.May he rest in peace.Shame on Perryton for allowing these murderers to get off scott free.Hope it's not your child next.

i think is unfair he got off with a slap on the wrist no jail time no nothing self defense i dont think so!!!! he shouldve be charged and convicted he was all messed up on drugs and he knew that there was a chance when he fired the gun that he could of ended up shooting him and he did.

It's been over a year and still a murder is being allowed to walk freely and live his life like he didn't do anything wrong....how is that justice? how is that fair? I pray he is haunted by what he has done for the rest of his life...sooner or later, he will have to answer for what he has done..he can't escape that.....I just wish with all my heart that it had been sooner! He deserves the same as he gave......
