The rich take from the poor, have you noticed. The poor foot the bill somehow. Thank GOD Marty is now taxing the rich by seizing assets. No one is jealous of the rich in my neighborhood, they can keep up with education by reading more. The city that reads and moves on. No tears needed.

I have and I chose not to buy a home in the area because of the people who live there.
Again with the generalizations. What kind of people live in your area??

This has nothing to do with property values, but has everything to do with quality of life. Traffic on Cromwell Bridge Road & Cowpens Avenue is already in excess of what these roads were designed to handle. The Smith administration's approval of the old Bohager's tent on Baltimore Lutheran School property has also increased traffic and congestion. Local enrollment at Loch Raven is declining. In an age of rising fuel costs and fuel shortages, it does not make sense to bus students in from great distances to Loch Raven. Building a new High school where the demand is is the logical choice. Not to mention that Comrade Smith has deprived local residents of due process of law by pushing this project through without public input.

Actually, I don't care if it is in my back yard...as long as local infrastructure can support it, which it currently cannot. If Jimmy Smith wants to expand Loch Raven High, he also needs to make Cromwell Bridge Road 4 lanes (which cannot be done), and address the failed intersection at Cromwell & Loch Raven Blvd. Every area has natural limits as to how much development it can absorb. The Loch Raven High property is currently at its limit.

Way to wash a school and save some doe for the next governor. Wait till next fiscal year. That will teach fools some learning. The intersection is fine and the road can be expanded, however it wont happen any time soon.

maybe i'm missing something, but why would you need to expand a road to add an addition to a school. how much more traffic will there be, a few extra busses? why does that require road expansion? y'know, whenever there's a tough decision to be made, there is no guaranteed happiness for all involved. someone will have to suck it up.

School Board Appointment's need to occur on the school level. The schools do not just walk up to you.

Our county executive is the same person who wanted an addition at one of only two middle schools that were overcrowded in the county. Catonsville is surrounded by middle schools that are more undercapacity than Catonsville is over.

High schools are a different story. If Loch Raven is built, it will be the fourth addition to a high school in 10 years in the Northeast and Central, and those areas still will be overcapacity.

Well, then we get no school anywhere and like it. Fiscal responsibility, wait till next year for a new school when funds is available.

Do any of you have students who attend Loch Raven High School? It has nothing to do with the "rich" people in the neighborhood of the school. Adding an addition for 400 students will not enlarge the facilities. And if you think the traffic is not a problem, travel Cromwell Bridge Rd. around 7 AM. Mr. Smith needs to get his priorities straight when it comes to spending our money. There is definitely a need for a new high school.

I wonder how many million he got from O'Malley for supporting slots?
