I live in Chesapeake City, Md., approx. 40 min from Aberdeen, and we frequently hear the booming of weapons testing from APG. When we moved here and asked what the heck that was, one of my neighbors said "Oh that's just them testing bombs up at APG", and that because we're so close to the Elk River we feel it more up here. After 10 years we've gotten used to hearing it, but it still is pretty scary when an especially loud one rumbles through.
