We just moved to Perkasie 2 months ago to get away from the white trash taking over Telford.... We love the neighborhhod we just moved to but the utility bills here are insane! Had we any idea how much Perkasie Boro charges for everything- we would've looked elsewhere....you would think the really high taxes would at least covers trash removal- but no! We do not miss living in Telford- but we do miss the reasonable taxes, water & electric bills & the choice of a trash company....359 more mortgage payments to go....

I am not trying to change the topic but how do you see W.T. taking over Telford? I would like to hear so that I know to keep my guard up.

In small towns it is acceptable to hang your laundry. You're dealing with a move in population with a snobbish, uppity attitude who've probably moved from wealthier areas and want to change things for their comfort. Have the same problem with neighbors in my area. Rich, downstaters who want to have everything their way. We are expected to change to accomodate them. Jerks!

citizen cane- First I would like to correct myself- I said we were trying to get away from the "white trash" but some of the trash isn't white- "trash" comes in all colors.......we bought an adorable house in Telford over 6 years ago because we thought it was a really cute small town. We had issues almost from the beginning with a few extremely rude neighbors who were very loud, sloppy & just downright inconsiderate & nothing could be done about them- we tried. Over the last few years a few groups of people came & went in the apartments around us- we had numerous break-ins all around us (alot of our neighbors were hit), someone tried to break in our house but fortunately didn't get in (we even installed an alarm on our house). We lived on a corner & would constantly find trash people threw in our yard as they went 45 mph in a 25 zone...I came out to find a huge rock next to my truck & a part of my fence broken so I reported it to the police. The lady there told me to be thankful that they only hit my fence with the rock- they were aiming for my truck window (& many people had already reported alot of broken windows that day). There were a few break-ins at night right behind my house in the alley so I never felt comfortable going back there to bring out my trash at night. I had people digging thru my trash & leaving it scattered in the alley for me to clean up. There was the murder of Joe at Lisa's Pizza- whoever did that is still out there...it doesn't make you feel real safe knowing something like that was done in broad daylight (I also work close to there) & in a place you frequent. There have been numerous stories in the paper over the last year of robberies- a couple following people home to rob them with a weapon..& a couple months ago was the huge fiasco at Cheers & Beers involving 40 people, a couple guys got stabbed & alot of people ran thru the neighborhood - some throwing weapons on roofs when they heard the cops coming....Telford has changed alot in the last few years & it was heading in a direction we didn't like. When you get to a point where you don't feel comfortable in your own house- it's time to go. I finally feel safer now. Hopefully you have had a better experience living there than we did...

Thanks for detailing. Throw in the occasional armed robbery along the Rt.309 for good measure. For the record, I have only the 18969 mailing address. Renters on both sides have been troubling at times (over 20+ Yrs) but balanced by considerate ,watchful neighbors. I strongly agree that once your home has been broken into it just will never be the same. That is a future I would not wait for as well. Good luck.
