THis is what is scary. If these people do not respect police officers, they certainly will not respect the rest of us. Hope they are found, charged and prosecuted!

I guess folks don't care about trying to murder police officers anymore.

I mean, if you consider that the penalty for murdering a police officer is now 3 square meals a day, a bed, a weight room, free cable TV etc.

No risk of the death penalty?

Ridiculous.

Our families thoughts and prayers for the officer and his family.

Bosque Farms PD has been doing a terrific job in Peralta ever since it incorporated. And they were doind a great job in Bosque Farms before that!

The two idiots were probably: illegal aliens, and / or
drug gang-banger wannabes, and
probably from Meadow Lake

A couple of little gang-banger pukes trying to make their bones do not care who they attack.

And I agree with you Rob, without the threat and swift use of the death penalty why should they care. Can you imagine what these two dirtbags would do to the average, liberal weinie that doesn't believe in packing a gun?

Two Hispanics with shaved heads. Sounds like a gang initiation. Until our law makers & courts get tough with these punks & throw them in prison for lengthy prison terms their out of control violence will continue. No plea deals! Incarcerate them in prisons as far away from their home towns as possible so their adoring mommies & aunties have to travel a good distance to visit them. Michael Astorga's mommy comes to mind who camps at little Mikey's prison & continually complains about the food he's served & how she gets no respect from the guards. What's to respect?

I pray the officer attacked recovers fully.

Oh, my God.. Are you serious with some of these comments regarding that these punks commited because the death penalty was removed. WOW!! lol..Well besides the retardation of individuals that are neo-cons and sound like a broken record and follow the transcripts of right-wing nuts, I do hope that these criminals are caught and prosecuted and put in prision for a very long time!!! ARMY leads the way!!!

The 13 tattoo might be M13, the gang responsible for the Denny's murder. The car with "black primer" with temp tags was probably stolen and will be painted. You can get fake temp tags easily. One of my co-workers had "temp tags" for over a year. I see so many "temp tags" in ABQ it's ridiculous. And you can never really read them because they hide them inside their blacked-out rear window, which is illegal. Cops just ignore it. It's a real scam.

Clearly, this was a sanctioned hit, not random violence. The cop probably busted one of their gang members and he was killed.

This is just the beginning folks. As more M13 and similarly violent gangs come to NM, escaping Mexico and Arizona heat, we will see more sanctioned killings of the good cops. The bad cops will do whatever the gangs tell them to do. If not, green light'em.

By the way, have you noticed how many Arizona plates are driving around ABQ these days. Phoenix is the number two kidnapping city in the world. Next, ABQ. Just watch.

Crazy thing is these guys are not affraid of dying because they face that possability everyday. The problem is they know ehn they go to jail they get all those things NM Rob talked about and then some! Take it all away, visitation, TV, weights, education! Stop making it livable and make it just good enough to get buy. I agree we should be able to carry firearms but in this case it did not help the cop.

Hoping for a full recovery for this officer and strength for his family. God's speed to the officers working to catch the punks that did this. Keep them safe in this endeavor and give them wisdom to bring justice to the criminals.

Excuse me, What does Astorga's mother have to do with this? She is not the one in prison and she has rights, she is just the mother. Stick to the issue at hand.

You are 100% correct. One of the main reasons I voted for Richardson was he claimed to be for the death penalty. That Sidewinder Rattlesnake betrayed all who supported him for his stand. I'll be the first to sign Sheriff Darren White's petition to reinstate the death penalty. July 1st has passed & it looks like it's open season on cops by gang bangers.

When Richardson's press releases showed him basking in a holier than thou glow on his face in the Rome Colosseum being praised for abolishing the death penalty in NM I wanted to barf. History shows the Colosseum is bathed in innocent victims blood, I thought how appropriate.

One thing all of you have overlooked is he was not only not armed but not in uniform which means for sure this was a gang hit.

How else would they know who he was, when and where he was going to take his daily run etc.?

They stalked him to learn his habits then attacked him when he was alone and defenseless.

Arrest these punks then let them take a run for it with LE on both sides giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Only make sure they are not breathing at the end of the run.
