Groton eyes church for a possible fire station

There are 2 comments on the Lowell Sun story from Jan 11, 2011, titled Groton eyes church for a possible fire station. In it, Lowell Sun reports that:

The circa-1884 property comes with a small steeple with a cross on top. The ornate trimmings, a cathedral ceiling and oversized windows are all indicative of the building's history as a church.

Emergency vehicles have exited Station Ave. for years. Installing a traffic light at its intersection with Main Street would be effective enough. It could be set on yellow on Main St. at all times except for when there's an emergency when it would change to red. We don't need the expense of another building project in this town.
