Lets hope that this go around they pick a better candidate than last time. He not only left after less than a year with $6,000 in vacation pay but screwed up the books so bad that the town had to hire auditors to clean up the mess a for $20,000.$26,000 for what? Sure could have used the money to help out the budge deficit.

I think Pepperell was much better off financially when it was a blue collar town. It shocks me that someone from Athol has information that Pepperell is a white collar town! The change to white collar has certainly put "red" on the book. Maybe the search team should consider someone who isn't just trying to go from blue to white but rather someone who can work like a "blue collar" worker works - hard!

Just another dog and pony show brought to you by the head clown himself. The only way this town is going to get back on it's feet is to get the true problem out of office. Things have gone down hill since Big Joe came into the picture.

We retired in Pepperell because the town has a nice mix of both white collared and blue collared workers We have a real sense of community, not one whose residents can only relate to "their kind.' I didn't like the candidates comment about white collar and yes I was one.

Welcome to the Peoples Republic of Sergiville. No doubt you live up in the Acropolis with Joe Sergi and the other immortals that don't have to brush up against those "townie" blue collared workers that actually pay for water, sewer and subsidize your property taxes.

Great post! Do you suppose the man from Athol was hung up on the blue collar white collar thing or was he really just saying what he thought Selectman Sergi wanted to hear? After all, if he happened to see that executive session tape that was televised by mistake he could have seen the contempt that our selectmen have for the hourly town employees and taxpayers?
