I'm sure you will never be asked too. Forensics is a part of Psychology that is needed. I guess she could sit in a room and listen to people whine that their life is crap because their parents didn't get them a swingset when they were kids. Of course then send them a bill for it.

Obviously Dave, you fall in the same category as the two defense experts. I would rather have somebody young, up to date with new material and schooling evaluating me rather than somebody that is so seasoned they oose their prospective and get emotionally involved and attached. I think this expert i is very credible, knowledgeable, and doesn't try to evade the questions asked by being able to answer with yes or no respnses, not tap dancing and avoiding answers. Keep up the good work Janeen Demarte!
Trish, did you see how Demarte wilted like lettuce in the sun under Jen Wilmot's withering cross ex? Your heroine ended up looking like a blithering idiot, evasive and refusing to answer yes or no while Jen showed much class by refusing to imitate your other hero Juan Valdez, er, Martinez, and becoming nasty like him. Demarte put on a slick, glib facade that Jen tore down leaving her visibly chastened. This neophyte is clearly out of her depth, imo.

You sound like such an idiot. Bad analogy as well. You are trying way too hard to sound intelligent. Dr demarte is extremely knowledgable and is beyond qualified to testify in this case. Age has nothing to do with the fact that this witness has core knowledge and education in the field of psychology. If anything her age is an advantage. She is fresh and eager and filled with recent up to date knowledge, not like laviolette who is so in the seventies with her views and applications.
Don't you think it's better to "try" to sound intelligent than to resort to cheap name-calling in violation of the Forum's policies and standards? My question is actually rhetorical since the answer is self evident. BTW, I can't help it if happen to sound too intelligent for you - I just am, OK, and I'm sorry if you have a problem with that?

Spot on, Jennifer. Read my post above and the angry, impolite vitriol that I got in response. Clinically speaking, this is a very COLD FISH, who, imo, has the potential to do real damage to her "patients". Her judgmentalism borders on the savage. You're right, she's got hostility issues and I'd be happy to dialogue with you as to possible etiologies. Take care.

Dave, your a moron. I'm 51, experienced and hold a Master of Science. Dr Demarte is very smart and does not avoid answering questions directly as the others were. Do you really think that the longer Wilmont wastes time attempting to brainwash the jurors (trying to disqualify Demarte) will actually make an impact on final outcome? Your points just solidify how ignorant you truly are.
You're actually making my point and you don't even know it. First of all you trumpet that "I'm 51, experienced and hold a Master of Science" yet you use such bad grammar as "your a moron". A truly educated person would know better. Secondly, a truly educated person would know enough to respect the specific direction of this forum to "be polite". Calling someone a moron violates this standard, imo. Common insults, cheap name-calling, are, imo, hallmarks of the unlettered, pretentious frauds among us.

That's a totally ridiculous sttatement...this is not a presidential race. It's obvious that Dave has insecurity issues towards a sharp, younger woman who sticks to the facts and has no dog in this fight. There's no regurgitation of anything other than what she discovered during her interview of this blatantly calculated murderer. She should be admired for not allowing Willmott to railroad her into saying things she wants her to say... Far more credible than that windbag LaViolete
Doubter, this may come as something of a shock to you but I actually like and respect your response, as it's such a contrast from other inadequate responses that shouldn't be allowed on this forum, they're so below par.
First of all, the presidential reference. I was merely using this to show that the highest office in the land, the governing this complex population, is only entrusted to those who have attained a minimum age. There is no minimum age for running any other large organization. This tells me that age is somehow expected to guarantee experience, wisdom and maturity, these being the qualities required to exercise the shrewd judgments demanded by the office. The analogy may not be all that apparent or clear so please disregard it if you see fit. The point I was trying to advance was that the dogmatic pronouncements of such a relatively new (and I don't mean young) licentiate as Ms. Demarte on such a complex matter as human motivation and with a slavish reliance on the DSM, strikes me as almost amateurish. She's a one-trick pony with this reliance on the DSM. Ms. Laviolette on the other hand is relying on her vast clinical experience that probably predates the DSM. And what is this DSM that Ms. Demarte relies so exclusively for her opinions? It's merely a compendium of unproven and untested psychological theory, opinion and dogma. Thought you might like to know.

Get a grip, Dave. She's got more class, insight, and maturity than you could EVER appreciate. You're one of those people that could never take anyone seriously under 40, and you better be prepared to have your ass handed to you by an upcoming younger generation that makes mine look like troglodytes. My daughter is on the fast track to becoming exactly what Dr. Demarte is, and her peers are smart, innovative, and just plain fast. Experience (and I hate to admit this) is sometimes over-rated and you better get out of these kids way. We can watch from the curb, and I'm happy to do just that.

Does Dave know that 35 is the minimum age to become President? It is not really relevant to a discussion about Dr. DeMarte. It appears some don't grasp exactly what forensic psychology entails. Dr. DeMarte did her job very well. She unnerved J "Trigger" W so much that she said b * tch under her breath while shuffling papers when questioning Dr. DeMarte.

Some are doing victory dances because Jodi scored a 119 on her IQ test with 136 in verbal comprehension. Also, Samuels came up with personality disorder NOS (not otherwise specified).
Dr. DeMarte explained that Jodi didn't fit into a neat little box and displayed characteristics of more than one personality disorder. At any rate, JA does not need to be out on the streets. I shuddered when it was said that she was a caretaker for a young boy at one point.

I had a roommate in college who probably would have met the criteria for borderline personality disorder. She did not even make it one semester at the university level and it was such a relief to see her pack her bags and go. I don't know how Travis put up with Jodi as long as he did. One of his friends said Travis wanted to get rid of her and move on, but she was a clinging vine. More like poison ivy. Heavy on the poison.

The smart mouth defense attorney looks pretty much in the same age range as Dr. D. Does that mean that Juan Martinez is presenting a better case than her because he is older and has more cases under his belt.

I agree, too wet behind the ears. No where near enough experience for this case. Can't believe Martinez got sucked in by this chick.
