I recently attended a football game at Liberty High School and could not help but notice that a large banner has been placed on the back of the Liberty High School football scoreboard that reads, "Home of the Liberty Lions proudly supported by Journey Church......" the banner also lists church service times as well as the church website. I have noticed over a period of years that local churches have been holding Sunday services at many if not all local schools within Maricopa County, I really do not have a major issue with that although I do believe that Sunday services should be held in churches and that the two should be entirely separate.

The local churches using the school space to hold Sunday services place banners advertising the services the morning of the service and the banners are taken down after the services. The banner at Liberty High School appears to be a permanent banner and it is very large and the way the entrance of the school is configured it is the first thing you see as you arrive. I have a huge issue with this, as I believe this is crossing the line between Church and State. I believe that the education of our children and religion within the public school system should never be intertwined and I would like to see the banner removed.
