Some countries allow conditions that "affect the balance of the mind" to be regarded as mitigating circumstances. This means that a person may be found guilty of "manslaughter"

on the basis of "diminished responsibility" rather than murder, if it can be proved that the killer was suffering from a condition that affected their judgment at the time.

Depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and medication side-effects are examples of conditions that may be taken into account when assessing responsibility

I can't imagine the pain and suffering. Jodi was like the Tasmanian devil. How horrible is right.
I love animals so very much, therefore, I do not want to compare Jodi to an animal. Although I must confess, at one time, I did compare Jodi to a snake in the grass. Now I know better. A real snake can't help his nature; God made him a snake. A real snake does not seem to have any moral sense of right and wrong, does he? Whereas Jodi did have a sense of what is right and wrong, did she not? No exuse for her for the brutal murder she committed against Travis.

The horrible pain and suffering she caused Travis is the epitome of evil-and then Jodi had the audacity to smile for her mug shot-what a creep Jodi Arias is. I really do hope she gets the death penalty.

This is not a case of self-defense. I do not believe Jodi suffered from (PTSD) post traumatic stress disorder. That is what her attorneys want the jury to believe. Let the jury not be mistaken about Jodi's evil spirit. Jodi's evil spirit is in her mug shot for all to see. I think Jodi suffers from an evil mind, period.

The verdict will be felony murder, I hope. Premeditated murder in the first-degree which would qualify her for the death penalty. A lawyer had explained they could convict Jodi on felony murder. Good night.

Juries are unpredictable. Who knows what she will get. It would not surprise me if she receives the death penalty. Keep in mind this was a murder most foul. A BRUTAL BRUTAL BRUTAL MURDER OF A HUMAN BEING.

I got the feeling that he found out something about her like maybe she was prostituting herself or something horrific. Something about being a corrupted carcass and that when people found who and what she really was, they would spit on her. I realize some dislike his language, but if he found out she was a prostitute, that could change his opinion of her.
I don't believe the photos in the camera were taken that day. There was something about equipment to download photos on his computer. She knew how to work his computer. It doesn't matter now. It's all up to the jury.
There was a rumor they were recreating a horror movie.
Yet another doctor is giving an opinion. He believes she shot him and he went to the sink and was spitting blood. Honestly, I just want them to get a verdict and be done with it.
Maybe what he found out about her was the tapes she recorded? The betrayal he must have felt about it. It is not up to us to make the final legal call on the trial. No matter the length of time it takes, I hope they arrive with a just and sound verdict. May reasonable and good sense guide this jury.

I understand that even if she goes to Death Row, there will be an automatic appeal. Since she is indigent, she will not have to pay for anything. She would get a private cell, 3 showers a week, 6 hours of time outside for recreation and visitation limited to the weekend IIRC. It is very unlikely that she would be executed and if she did, it would probably be 12 years (the average) before it happened.

It is obvious from some of the messages that Travis had something on her that she couldn't afford to let him tell everyone. Something she didn't want exposed. She enjoyed having this pool of Mormon boys she could trick. She journaled each time he and Mimi went out. She cleaned his home so she could keep an eye on him and would just happen to be in his bed sleeping when he would arrive home.
She, however, is no sleeping beauty. She is not Snow White.

There's also the issue that she owed him at least $6,000 for the car. She tried to contact Tanisha about this matter. Her brother had been murdered and she gets a message about a car loan from Jodi?
One of his friends said that Travis's friends only tolerated Jodi because of him, not because any of them liked her.

I really wish her psychological profile would have been explored more. We get that she has a "floating profile" and that there isn't a one size fits all diagnosis for her. When I looked up the kind of murder she committed, in most other cases the person was schizophrenic. She scored as elevated on the schizotypal, sociopath, narcissistic and histrionic scales. I'm sure there were others. She is not someone who needs to be returned to society. I have no doubt if she is acquitted that she will reoffend, but she's had almost 5 years with other convicted felons and the next round would be even worse.

I remember she said to Det. Flores that if she were found guilty of Travis's murder, her life would be over.

In my mind, there's the things she did before the murder like recording their private phone conversations. That was just one of the tapes. She manipulated him by always trying to make him jealous of other guys who gave her attention because of her blond hair, fake implants, lots of makeup and her soft spoken b.s. Many guys had their tongues hanging out and one hand in their pants. None of them, however, saw her as wife material. She kept him from moving on by harassing anyone he tried to date. I read that one of the girls he dated had security and it kept going off. Her behavior was not normal at that time. It's too bad none of these people had video cams. We keep video cams on at all times. I can tell you that when someone is beating the door down and they turn around and see a video cam on them, they quickly exit.

This trial has made me locate all weapons, all ammo. Responsible gun owners keep their weapons and ammo where they know where they are and not loaded and in a closet. I don't believe for one minute that Travis had a loaded gun in the top of his closet. Also, I can tell you that out of all the weapons I have access to, none takes .25 caliber bullets.

Time for coffee so I can collect my thoughts. Perhaps I will be back later. It's nice to have someone sleeping next to me who knows how to handle every type of weapon and also knows how to disarm people. If Jodi had come after him, guarantee you she would have lost. It's too bad Travis didn't take some kind of training. Then again, they have never been able to prove that she didn't have an accomplice even if he/she wasn't in the bedroom. She simply seems too stupid to have done all of this alone. I don't care about her high verbal IQ score. That isn't going to help her.

Even a snake does not always inject venom. I can tell you, however, that Texas justice for a rattlesnake who comes prowling around a man's house is sudden death by lead poisoning. A snake does not get you at a vulnerable point like being in a shower. A snake doesn't use three different methods to hurt and kill you. A snake doesn't shoot you in the head. A snake doesn't slit your throat. A snake doesn't carve on your head, back and chest. A snake doesn't place a knife 3.5 inches into your chest looking for your heart.

It's too bad that when Jodi did her sneaking and peeking like a perverted snake in the grass that someone didn't shoot her when they had the chance. She has gotten away with so much so long, but it's time for justice. She even got away with killing Travis one more time by trying to take his reputation away. She kills him and then tries to forget letters to make him seem like he is something he is not. It's a funny thing that no other woman except for her claims any type of abuse. No one had any problem with him being around their families. She is Satan incarnate. Saying get back Satan is not enough.

I laughed because the defense thought they were winning when the report said the bullet did not penetrate the brain, so the defense didn't call a rebuttal witness. Then, when it is too late,
Dr. Horn corrects the error.

This is a game of chess, not checkers.

Dr. Horn is NOT incompetent. Anyone who would suggest such a thing is a fool.
It was funny how bored he looked while on the stand. His expertise is not in the area of
testifying. Some people act like this is his only case. He did the autopsy many years ago.
Also, Medical Examiners do not type their own reports. I would guess they are dictated and medical transcriptionists transcribe them. The transcriptionists don't have access to anything but his voice.
Transcriptionists don't sit and ponder whether what he is saying makes sense. They just type what they hear.

People act like this is the case of the century. People get shot every day in New Orleans. Watch Trauma in the ER and other such shows. This case should have never been given the coverage that it has. It has fed into her narcissistic need to be in the limelight. It's the reason she produced salacious details. When the faked orgasm on the tape was talked about in the closing arguments, a big-toothed smile came across her face. Not a smirk. An all out smile. She enjoys the attention. After the jury exited, Jodi was talking to her mitigation specialist and pouring water like she was at a tea party.
She enjoys this attention and she will until such time she is actually sent to death row and executed.
I shudder to think what would happen if she is acquitted or gets out in a few years due to a lesser charge.

I was thinking about the difference in where Travis lived in Arizona and how life is here.
I was looking up some ER footage and came across Memorial Hermann Life Flight.
Even such a service could not have saved Travis. There is no doubt she intended to kill.
She did not just try to stop him and run away. She intended to kill him and leave him for dead, naked and the clock ticking for him to deteriorate so it would be harder to gather evidence that would help figure out the crime scene. She is a rare kind of evil.

Anyway, a shout out to the Memorial Hermann Life Flight. And a shot out to Dr. Red Duke.

I am unaware of what kind doctors/medical centers are available in Phoenix. Here in Houston, Tx
we have the Texas Medical Center/UT Health Science Center, home of Dr. Red Duke. It's unfortunate that they couldn't get someone like Dr. Red Duke to testify about the trauma Travis Alexander.

Like Dr. Red Duke says, anyone can understand anything if it is presented in clear enough language.
Has anyone here ever heard of Dr. Red Duke?
