Received a money order from James Duke, good for him, too bad i had to take him to court to get the money. the money order proves he lied when he said he returned all the jewelery, it also proves he lied when he said it was costume jewelery and not worth more than $5. I suspect he would never have paid up if I hadn't taken it to court and continued to pursue the case. so yes, good for him that he finally paid up, but he's certainly no good guy for trying to lie about things in the first place.

Nicole you are a nasty ugly person. When you called me and told me you drove 20 mins to our event to learn that Jason M. my buyer could tell costume junk jewerly from better items you called me. From the goodness of my heart I wired you money for your time and effort. That is trackable and can be proven through your signature with Money Gram. You asked if you could send me your stuff to look at and I agreed. I received a package of junk costume jewelry just like Jason told you. You immediately filed a complaint with the BBB claiming us to be fraud. I sent them the records of the money transfer to you and the tracking number from the USPS where you received you items back. They dismissed your case and the can be verified with the BBB in Phoenix. You then went to small claims

Court in Hays and filed a bogus claim for $200. Stating that two pieces were missing and one broken. What crap. Of course I am not going to fly from Phoenix to Hays KS to fit a $200 case and I was forced to pay you to keep my credit report clean. You basically extorted money from a good person with a big heart. I will leave this on Gods shoulder and I have no doubt he will take good care of you. You are a liar and a theif. Not a victom like you want to portray youself. I'm a true believer that a person gets what one deserves. You will get your just reward.

Amanda, it's so obvious you work for or are paid or have a vested interest in Dukes coins..oops phoenix coin LLC. your comments are not mistaken to be that of a customer as you intend.
what is sad is companies like "your friends" go into a town and RAPE the people with prices that are NOT fair to the customer at all. I took some gold and a 1.01 ct Diamond set in a 14k gold ring with 1/2 ct of side diamonds. the Diamond is graded as SI1,G in color. It retails for around $5500-$6000 The Diamond wholesale cost is $3800 -$4000 for the stone. they offered me $400.00 THAT IS RIPING PEOPLE OFF!!! they told me the Diamond is not a good one. HE LIED!! I took it to a local Jeweler who offered me $2000 cash or $up to $3000 if I consigned it with him. he paid me CASH (not a check) 4 times the amount MR Duke the offered for my scrap gold! 4 times the amount!!! ALSO..what if someone broke in to your house and stole your family heirlooms worth thousands of dollars? they could take them to this "CON ARTIST THIEF" and sell them for pennies on the dollar to buy more crack and you would never see your stuff again! in a local shop they have to be licensed by the state and turn in a slip to the local Police dept BEFORE they melt it! These companies are illegitimate and ripping honest people off!!

I came into an event the past two days in Seguin, TX. I wanted to give some feedback on this company. My sister lives in New Mexico and went to a Phoenix Coin event last year and warned me about them. I had to check it out for myself. I am not sure if they are under new ownership or something but the girl that waited on me was WONDERFUL! I knew exactly how much gold I had and what the market was at. She took a fair profit. I walked right into a Wells Fargo and cashed the check and I have come back three times and sent four people in who were also happy. Maybe it was the sales person you had. Kristin was in charge at the one I went to (a red haired girl) and she was great (personable, appeared to be honest). I hope everyone has better luck with going. I loved my experience but then again my sister hated the company and had issues with them not wanting her watches (she said the guy only seemed interested in gold contrary to the ad). I think it is just who is the one in charge there.

I have no personal knowledge of Duke/Phoenix coin, I do not have any positive or negative comments about them. The following is a very short description of law requirements in CA.

According to Dept. of Justice, anyone doing bus. in CA (even the 2-5 day shows) are required to obtain licenses through DOJ. That is the jewelry sales, pawn sales, second hand dealers, etc. They are subject to the laws governing California's pawn/second hand dealers. They are required to report all "purchases" of jewelry on a DOJ approved form (JUS123). If not, they are in violation of laws located in the CA Bus. and Professions code. When these shows come around my area, the local law enforcement verifies they have the proper licenses through DOJ. If they have the license, they conduct their business. If they don't have a license, they ARE NOT allowed to set up shop in the county.
