Was in Ace and witnessed a clerk throw a mailing box at a customer. The man was just needing help because his hands were obviously weak and the clerk was just rude. I feel so bad for the black gentleman. And to top it off they sent him out of the store telling him they refused to serve him. I won't go back to the Ace, they don't understand the customer is always right!!

"Ace is the place for the helpful, hardware manÂ…..".

Now-days, the 'blackman' can sue and get a settlement out of it.

That was my husband. The clerk told him to put it in a shipping envelope. He saw a box that was not as expensive to ship and she took it off the shelf and threw it at him. It was not assembled and he struggled with constructing the box. He proceeded to tell her the other clerk would assemble it for him. The clerk proceeded to tell him she does not help. My husband has had nine operations on his hands and is in pain. He asked her after that if she put the label on the box and she proceeded again to tell him she does not help. She was very rude and I am sure my husband was not happy with her. It is sad when a clerk is not willing to help a customer. Also the store manager was called in but would not bring the two people together to talk about it. She told him they didn't have to help him and told him where the post office is. It was Arnies ace hardware. They are a neighborhood store and unfortunately they lost a valuable customer. Our neighbors were also not happy about the service and will not go back.

They should be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

I run this store, and after speaking to my employees there, we have all agreed that in this particular siutation, it was the customer who was wrong. No further action will be needed, case closed on this matter.Thank you to our loyal customers.

Of course you are going to side with your employees. BUT after it is said and done I hope you will talk to your employee and let her know it is not appropriate to be so rude to a customer. There are always two sides to the story and you should know better to make a decision when you were NOT there. If you run the store with employees that think they can be rude to customers you will have employees love you but you will not have many customers left. A good manager would never make a decision on here say. You forgot to mention your employee was wrong also. We would never want an employee punished but a course on customer service would be helpful. You are pretty naive to think your employee was totally in the right. I don't think a customer would become aggravated for no reason. You are going to have a problem with keeping your loyal customer because you just lost one. And with your attitude, you will lose more loyal customers.

You sound like a smart alec brat instead of a good manager. Your employee was wrong and should have apologized to the elderly man, hate to see what she does to the next customer. I will never set foot in your store because of this.

We have had issues at that hardware store as well, we no longer shop at Ace. Being an Ace store they should honor Ace flyers etc.

We have many snow bird friends who also avoid that store..

If that occurs Ace would have NO customers.

Arizona is a snowbird state.

Think I'll send a copy of your comments to Ace Hardware's corporate headquarter's. Yes, I will. I think they will be interested at how you speak about customers and tell them never to come to the store again.

Wasnt Bernie Lomax the guys name in Weekend at Bernies? This guy is playing you all like fools. But honestly, what kind of idiot would really believe that a manager or owner would write things like that. Just because you read something online doesnt make it true.If I write that Im the pesident, it doesnt mean I actually am. Its sad how guilable and foolish the people reading and believing this really are.

It's important to understand "Ace" may not be the place of a "helpful hardware man".
