Hi. I have always suffered from attention problems. When I was young, my pediatrician suggested several times for me to be started on something for it, but my family didn't believe it was a real disorder. I was on Vyvanse for 3 weeks back in 2009, when I lived in NO, and it was like a miracle for me. Then I found out I was pregnant, and stopped taking it.

Lately it has escalated in intensity, I can't focus on anything, can't get my mind to stop bouncing all over the place. I am failing classes because it has been so bad. I want to go to a doctor and tell them I need to be put back on the Vyvanse, but the problem is I have no insurance. I have qualified for "medically needy" but with a share of cost of $750, it's of no use to me either.

What I need to know is if there is a doctor who accepts people with no insurance around here that would likely write me a script for Vyvanse the first time I see him. I am struggling too bad to be able to go around dropping money visit after visit looking for a doctor that will help, I simply cannot afford it! Does anyone know a doctor they are pretty sure would be willing to help someone in my position?

I have needed a doctor's assistance in dealing with my symptoms as well, and hav run into the exact same problem. They are either too scared of authorities to prescribe anything at all or they want you to visit like three times before they give you something that may help! I would appreciate a referral as well!!!

I have the same exact problem, I HATE IT!...Go to a Mental Health Facility and they will go by your income...if no income, the government or whatever will pay for it...Im sure you cant afford 'Vyvanse' bc it is fairly new and is probably expensive as heck...so get a script for Ritalin bc I believe there is a generic at walmart for $4. Ive been on both and they are the same thing.
