UWF getting a football team would be great for the school. I am definitely in favor for UWF getting its own football team!

Im in a small school in PA and am originally from FL. id definately consider transfering to a florida school if there were any smaller ones than the big time d1 schools that are there.
You can also check out my highlight tape from my freshman year on youtube.

I think a Division II football team that would be competing with Valdosta State and North Alabama would be awesome. It would be a nice alternative to the BCS madness of the other Florida football schools. Go for it!

Football revenue at schools of our class with approximate enrollment pasted below (U.S. Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education website).

These numbers, as I understand them, do not include special financial aid for athletes, or recruiting incentives. This means that each comparison school is pretty deeply in the red.

As the UWF President is currently speaking of such things as layoffs, I believe that starting up a football team at this time would be economically irresponsible (unless, of course, some wealthy, football-loving, Pensacola resident wants to foot the bill in perpetuity ;). Any takers?

Indiana University of Pennsylvania-Main Campus
Expenses per year:$1,136,451
Revenue per year:$930,692

Minnesota State University-Mankato
Expenses:$1,076,229
Revenue:$1,074,310

Saint Cloud State University
Expenses:$848,565
Revenue:$898,465

University of North Dakota
Expenses:$1,399,389
Revenue:$612,428

Western Washington University
Expenses:$1,544,303
Revenue:$1,544,303
