Writers write, proofreaders and editors punctuate and spell check.

You're not serious are you? I wonder how far the bestsellers would have got if they were unedited garbage when the publisher first laid eyes on them. Good myth to believe in. If this book is any good, why isn't it available on amazon.com like the writer says. I went there and it says it came out months ago but isn't available. I'm starting to believe what the others wrote and this company isn't doing what it's supposed to.

I went to amazon and it isn't there. Says it came out in May of this year but it isn't available. Why? It's ranked at like nine million. Did they already stop making it? Did the author decide to get out of her contract too? Don't tell me if I want to buy it I have to drive ALL THE WAY to Pennington Gap Virginia! That's messed up.

This local author happens to be my wonderful aunt and I'm definately a book person and I've read her books and have to say she has a wonderful talent, and before you speak your opinion about it just read it. You may surprise yourself and actually like it. Then again you might not know a good book if it hit you in the face. :)

Look up the postings for Publish America and you will find out that this is a POD company (Publish on demand). You pay for the books and they print them. They are actually just a printing company. One guy wrote 30 pages and copied and pasted them over and over until he had enough to fill a novel and the company accepted this. Real book stores will not touch these books because they are unedited and not professional quality. One lady tried to have a book signing at her local library and was refused because this company is not an actual publishing company. The author has to buy and then sell their own books. IT IS A SCAM!!!

That is so sad, this poor girl thought her book was published and it was by this crappy company, I hope she realizes this and tries to find a real publisher next time. Can you imagine trying to sell this and amazon and borders won't even carry it online, can you imagine trying tell family and friends you got scammed?

You say it's a scam, that must be why you can only order the books online through the publisher. They control everything. I looked it up online and they have been to court and lost a case against a man who said they didn't pay him his royalties either. How sad.

Bet the advance was only a buck, that's all they pay

they've been known to call their authors names in emails when the author complains about the lousy books and bad formats, even make authors pay for their own copyrights and then mass email them with lies about sending their books to Stephen King and other famous people. this company is bad news on all sides, they don't promote the book, they don't edit the book, they only offer deals to the author and they stopped putting the amazon buttons up for people to buy from amazon. now you have to pay them for the book.

ur rite...this is true. But, I'm getting the story out as far as I can on my own. You have to have your foot in the door for a big time publishing company to publish ur work. I don't have the money to do that so the only way I know how to get my work recognized is to do what I can with my own sales. So, really, the jokes on them. I can get out of my contract anytime I want to. I don't care about the royalties, it's not about the money. The more ppl read it, the better my chances are.
I want to thank you guys for your support...and even the critics. I'm sorry some ppl want to put me down...but whether I've gotten scanned or not, it's still a book...and they're selling. A friend of mine ordered his on Amazon.com and got a copy within a week even tho it said unavailable. And, on publishamerica.com , the paperbk is available for $9.95. For ur info. Thank you Sarah.

I think you are mistaken on that detail, you dont have to have any money to get your foot in the door. You have to be a good writer is all, you have to have a story that grabs the agent or publishers attention, not money. That is why so many new authors fail, they believe what PublishAmerica says and that theyll fail if they dont have the money to do something. PublishAmerica is taking more money from you than you know, I bet you dont even get an accurate count of how many books you sold through their website. Wise up, get your story out there by rewriting till it is the best writing you have done, dont hand it over to them.

If you fell for the scam that is this company you deserve everything you got, a whole lot of worthless books with no editing and unfair price. Didn't you even research the company before going there? I highly doubt you did or you would have listened to the many bad reports all over the internet and steered clear of them. Google Publish America and scam, hell theres stuff about them on other publisher and agent sites that say they think the company sucks. BTW how many posts did you get removed from this site that listed bad things on the company? You scared your family will find out you pretty much got scammed and did not get published by an actual publisher? I'd be upset too. So how does your book measure up in amazon? Amazon Bestsellers Rank:#9,437,398 in Book.s Better go order one to make the ranks jump up some.
