People call me Lee county is all to hell because ppl have no jobs. GreenUSA could have brought in so many jobs. Do your research and you'll see that it is a very clean company. No one complains about them in the towns they already in.

Of course nobody complains about them in the towns that they are already in! They don't don't have a operating location anywhere.
The dream is great, the promise of a lot of jobs is great, but.....
Politicians and the lottery provides the same (that has worked well in the past hasn't it?) It sounds good but we need more than "trust us on this one" before entering into this arrangement.

Wake up people. Mrs. DeBusk was in the paper complaining about this, but no one pointed out to her that her son who owns Deroyal industries took jobs from Lee County and sent them overseas. They don't care about the people here.

Great work! No really, who would want new jobs in a county over run with people on the draw? They probably couldn't find enough people who would work or could pass a drug test. Might have been nice for some some of the miners laid off and out of work. Lee County can stifle improvement and success like no other place I know.

Didn't this company claim(in the beginning) that they had 11 facilities? If so, there should be no further talks about any negotiations. What do yu alll think changed the ida decision?
I must state that I'm very proud of the citizens of Lee in their unmasking of the truth aabout this fraudalent co. We were smart and stood up to this big talking fraud dreaming company.
Also, Mr Debusk's business has abso lutely nothing to d with the issue at hand. NO ONE Wants GreenUSa in our county. WE care about the air that our future generations breathe and the water they drink.

Jobs! Recycle trash instead of bury it!
Sounds great!
But the way it was done smells fishy.(Like the fish/shrimp pond thing)
If GreenUSA had some facilities and could show that nothing harmful goes into the air and water,
they wouldn't have any resistance.
thanks

I hope they keep that stuff out of here. If you notice on the message boards, the only people who want that to locate here can't even spell well enough to make sense. That tells me all I need to know about this type of industry. That willis clown has been trying to find a sucker to locate this type of plant for two or three years and when people find out what it does, they kick his sorry ass to the curb. I also think our IDA director needs to go. Mr. James is clearly not cut out for this type work. This is the type of industry no one wants and he is bending over asking for it. Complain to your Supervisor and say you want him fired. They answer to us.

I agree with your statement greengoat but that is where the crux of the problem lies. GreenUSA has no track record to show us. Also waste storage and sorting really is not ideal for lee co. due to our karst topography and dependence on groundwater for our farms. Wish it was real, but its just another fly by night corp. who is trying to take advantage of an ill informed and frankly not very intelligent IDA director, IDA board, and BOS. Talk to some of them. Its scary they were elected and appointed to make decisions for us. The underhanded nature of these meetings is what offends me the most. IF all of lee county voted it in I could live with even though i dont agree with it. they did not even give us that opportunity. That was a cowardly move and will weigh heavily on political careers come next election.

Davis I don't believe for 1 minute that you have done and research! I for one have!

Pyrolysis is a very dangerous thing.....if the recycling plant comes into the Rose Hill area the people of Lee County can bet that in 20 years after the plant is opened medical bills will rise our childrens children will be born with birth defects and our cancer rate is high already.....Pyrolysis burn creates dioxins and agent orange is one created from pyrolysis.....think about the Korean war and the agent orange was used to destroy the jungles growth inorder for the soldiers to get thru.....if it will do that what will it do to our water and farming in this area......it is a very bad thing.....Lower Lee County is one of the most beautiful areas in VA and if this plant comes in yes it will create jobs but is it worth killing our future and the beauty of this land....It irates me to think that we the people of this county were not even given a chance to vote.....90 acres have been sold to this GreenUSA these people are new at this...Do the research on the plants that use pyrolysis, look at the landfill.......I have talked to people in Ohio who live in an area with one of these plants they say it stinks so bad in the summer......I will leave this place if that plant comes in....I came home after 27 yrs to my home land because i missed the beauty and it saddens me to think that in the future the place I love so much will turn into a garbage dump and will begin to kill our children.....This surely needs to be put a stop to....

Concerned Citizen, how dare you bring facts to this board. LOL. Its sad that many in our community dont understand the threat this poses to our health. Education has always been a bad word in Lee co. People here refuse to train for better jobs. thats why this type of stuff always looks here. Most are too ignorant of the facts to understand the harm this will do. I hate to say it but if your future depends on sorting garbage for a living you might have bigger problems than just finding a job. I am glad that Debusk guy from Deroyal stepped up and challenged them. He said he would sue til hell froze over. Always good to have a homegrown billionaire fighting with the good guys. WE WILL GET GOOD JOBS HERE FOLKS WE JUST NEED AN IDA DIRECTOR WHO RESIDES IN THE 21ST CENTURY RATHER THAN THE 19th. I'm with you Concerned Citizen, if this goes through, Im out. I can work anywhere with my career, only here because I choose to be.

questions for the IDA members I just dont feel 3 min if enough time to ask what needs to be ask. what effect is this going to have on the quality of land what about the water quality what about animals deer, dogs, live stock and our children!!!
yeah it might bring jobs to this area for how long and at what cost to quality of life??? Are they going to use local or have other 'materials' brought in from another county???

Bring jobs for how long ? 1 2 3 years but what is it going to leave us with a life time of.. what ???? That is the big question. when I first heard this I thought of the movie 'Fire down below'

It stated in the News Paper that they would be bringing trash in from other States like, Canada, Massachusetts, and other states on the East Coast. All they are going to do is make a 90+ Acre Trash Dump out of our land, and pollute our land, water and air! It will kill the animals like our livestock & deer, etc....And look at how close it will be to the school and to homes, people will become sick medical bills will go up! People of Lee County need to take a stand against this! Green USA only has 3 employees and have NEVER done anything like this plant and they want to use our beautiful land as a guinea pig! And after they use the Pyrolysis the county won't be able to resell that land to anyone! That trash dump will the 1st thing you see when you come into Rose Hill and it will left for us to clean up when Green USA decides they can't do it anymore! People in Lee County better be going to the meeting tomorrow at Thomas Walker and taking a stand against it or we won't have nothing left in the lower end of the county but a huge trash dump to ruin the beauty of the land & mountains.
