Here’s what I mean:

On TV they were interviewing a jobless couple whose house was in foreclosure. On the driveway was a Nissan. I shouted,“Guys, the Japanese thank you for jobs.”

Ugh! Jobless Americans driving foreign cars...putting even more Americans out of work!

Reality: the Japanese have been luring us for years. They give their vehicles American names. And incredibly, media promote them for free! Plus, they flood us with seductive ads. So no wonder we’re suckers.

As to the familiar quality pitch, see the March ‘09 J.D. Power report: Buick at No. 1 tops Lexus, and Lincoln & Mercury are in top 5. Today, differences between Japanese and American, exist only in persons' minds influenced by BIASED media who push Japanese cars.

For years they’ve been touting Japanese cars and knocking ours. Japanese car salespersons constantly quote them. Yes, FOR FREE, these people help sell MILLIONS and MILLIONS of Japanese cars. Their 20 year bashing of the Big 3 has made it nightmarish for them to compete with the Japanese. And because the Big 3 are a huge factor in our economy, this costs America JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!

But the Japanese say,“We give America jobs. We build cars here and hire Americans to build them.”

Big deal! So, they assemble SOME here. They want people to think:“Because they’re built here, they’re American.” HOGWASH! They’re Japanese! Foreign!

And here’s more reality: MOST Japanese and Korean vehicles sold here are shipped from Asia.

But no matter where vehicles are built or their parts come from, what really counts is where profits go. FACT: every year Japanese parent-corporations in Japan reap BILLIONS from vehicles sold in America. Yes, 31% of their income comes from the U.S.A.(see Google) These billions help people in Japan, not us in America!

We’re Japan’s cash cow! This, despite our almost 50 million people with no health care, 37 million in poverty, 12 million kids hungry each day, 77,000 bridges needing rebuilding, highways crumbling, inner-city schools deteriorating, and unemployment highest in 26 years.

Considering all that, we let Japan milk us for billions? Can we build cars in Japan? Nope! In ‘08 they imported a puny 10,000 of ours. But they sold us 3 MILLION!!! Square shooters, NOT!

They’ve even refused to buy apples from us! They’re fiercely loyal to their own products. They close their market to us but then FEAST on us!

And, oh yes, the South Koreans are also parasites on us. They sell us 800,000 cars a year but buy only 6,000 of ours.

At least the Germans, who build and sell cars here, reciprocate by buying lots of ours. So do the French, Spanish, Italians, British, Chinese, and South Americans. Yes, we build and sell cars almost everywhere but in Japan and South Korea.

Another bummer: many Big 3 dealers have conflicts of interest; they also sell Japanese or Korean. So, of course, they don't advertise or push:“DRIVE AMERICAN!” If they did, it would sell lots more American cars and fewer Japanese and Korean and put hundreds of thousands of Americans back to work.

Anyway, it’s estimated from “FOREIGN-CAR-I-TIS,” we’ve already lost a million jobs. And if we continue blind to this, estimates say up to 3 million more jobs will be lost. And some predict with trickle down it could be 4 million.

As to the 375,000 or so jobs we get from foreigners to assemble vehicles, well, if from that we lose 3-4 million jobs, that’s OK?

And now with U.S. backing, GM and Chrysler will become stronger. Even so, the Japanese and Koreans are circling vultures hoping to devour the 100 year industry we created. Shall we help them?

NO! NO! Let’s back the new GM and Chrysler, as well as Ford, which on its own is strengthening. For two months now, Ford has outsold Toyota. Finally, we’re starting to smell Japanese manure!

Support America’s economy! DRIVE AMERICAN!

"God bless America, land that I love, stand beside her...."

Why did I buy a Kia? Because, since it's built in Korea, The quality is better and cheaper. Korean workers are REQUIRED to perform at a higher level of quality than the lazy,$50-an-hour UAW slugs in Detroit, where quality is a sometimes achievable goal in the "Over $40,000" range.

Better cars for less,

Boy, you sure sound like a Korean car salesperson. You have all the earmarks: you sell with scare tactics, trash domestic competition. Buy foreign or your car won't last, it'll fall apart.

This is unethical and unconscionable. You insult and malign the thousands and thousands of fine persons who assemble American vehicles.

And you help cost Americans thousands and thousands of jobs!

SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

Keep in mind:

Korean Airlines is ready when you are. They have some terrific one-way fares.

I served my country for 24 years wearing the uniform of the U.S. Navy. Not you, not anyone is going to tell me that I have not earned the RIGHT to decide what I want to buy.

You want to turn America into the former Soviet Union. "Here, buy this POS car because it's made in Russia!"

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Cancer

It's a sensational Full Moon in your sign, combined with a lunar eclipse! Holy cow! However, once you accept that even the best-laid plans could go awry today, you'll find that life is a lot easier to cope with. Try your hardest to take everything in your stride, even if you do have to rethink an arrangement at the eleventh hour. At least it's never a dull moment! Do your best not to let the tensions of the day spoil what promises to be some spectacular New Year's Eve celebrations. It will be an opportunity to let off steam. Have fun!
