Todd Co. High School Teacher Indicted

A Todd County Grand Jury indicts a high school teacher for third degree rape. Ben Drummond was arrested in late August and charged with raping a student.

This is wrong. I don't think that investigations were handled like they needed to be. This man is innocent, and more than half of Todd County knows this. The girl that is accusing Drummond is known to be free with it. I believe she wanted to have sex with Drummkond and he wouldn't give her any so she got mad. Lets just say she did have sex with him what about the other people over 18 that she had sex with , while she was 14 and 15, why aren't they being taken to court!!!! Our court system isn't fair, its like being prejudice.

I know for sure that Ben Drummond has done this. Not only has he done this to one student but it has been done to several. I know of one in fact that he has done this to. She has been notified but is scared to come forth because of what it might do to her reputation. Ben Drummond is guilty as ever!!! All I have to say is the attorney that is defending this girl needs to work a little harder on getting these other victims to confess. Trust me, they're more than her!!!

"Not telling" is so right on. I know someone personally also who had sex and also oral sex with Drummond and she will not confess either. Hopefully she will suck it up and testify! You do not know Drummond. A jury of his peers found him not guilty, social services investigated and has cleared his name. This should not have happened to this man. He cared about his students and loved teaching. This girl lied. Who ever you are in Navarre Florida keep talking. You don't know the situation like you think you do.

How can you explain an investigation that lasted less than 4 hours by the State Police, social services? What about the fact that the girl claimed to be at his house in 2004 - when in fact the house was not even built? No DNA. No pictures. No letters. No witnesses. A person can make any accusation like this, but there needs to be proof. The stories against him were just to inconsistant.

The only rude awakening he has had to deal with is poeple like you! You probably tried have a relationship with him and he turned you down. Drummond cared about his students always has and always will - hopefully he and his family will be able to put this behind them for good.

You said it! The girl is an absolute slut and on top of that she is crazy! She even tried to sue Drummond and the school after he was found innocent by a jury of his peers! The civil suit was thrown out!

the fact that this is even a debate disgusts me. everyone that has commented seems to all say that the sexual encounter happened. slut or not, teachers are not to have sex with students, period. it is up to the "adult," and I use the term loosely, to say no. Sex with an underage person is against the law, and anyone with morals would know this. how could anyone think that it is okay?! Now if the encounter didn't happen then I feel poorly for Mr. Drummond. However, the community seems to be convinced it did and not care. How are parents supposed to feel comfortable with a community with that state of mind.

The "community" is a small town, which is controlled be a select group. Mr. Drummond's peers cleared him of this crime - the girl is the one who should be up on trial. There are peopel out there that know Mr. Drummond was a great teacher and coach. The girls liked him - so what! We all liked him. I miss him. He was some one we could all count on.

I was in the courtroom. I didn't miss a minute of it. He was not guilty. But what does it matter. He has lost his job - he stood up to his accusers and held his ground - found innocent and still lost his job.
