Three municipalities of Macedonia, Dion, Aigai and Pella, have twined with the Greek community in Alexandria Egypt. Dion is the old religious and cultural center of the Macedonians. Aigai, in the modern village of Vergina is the old, historic capital of Macedonia, where its kings were buried. Pella was the late capital of Macedonia, built by Archelaos, made the center of Greece by Philip II, and finally center of the world by Alexander the Great.
