Eric 'Victor Newman' Braedan leaves 'The Young & the Restless'

It looks like Colleen's heart is going to waste. TV Guide magazine is reporting that Eric Braeden, the iconic big man of Genoa City, is leaving CBS' "The Young and the Restless." It seems Sony took advantage of a standard clause in soap contracts that leaves a stara s salary prone to renegotiation every 26 weeks.

Wake up you corporate retards!!!There is no Young and Restless without Eric Braeden as Victor Newman. Someone needs to get their thumb out of their ### and fire the Einstien that came up with the idea to get rid of Eric Braeden. Then you can use his salary to pay Braeden and the rest of the cast.

I can hardly believe that the 'higher-ups' do not feel that 'Victor', who is the BEST actor in the world of 'Soaps', is not worth keeping!Unbelievable! Eric Braeden, after being a part of the soap for almost 30 YEARS, is worth every penny! There will NEVER be another 'Victor'!
He is the #1 reason why I watch the show. His acting is comparable to nobody else's! He is a classic and I hope 'they' re-consider their [bad] decision. If he DOES leave, I foresee ratings going down ... and possibly significantly.

I think that is so sad that Sony is so stupid, and i will stop watching the Young And The Restless if Victor Newman is not on the show. I think that he is the backbone of the show and a very good actor. His leaving will be a blow to the show, and the ratings will go down. How can they expect Eric to take a pay cut or not be given a pay raise? He is the best actor of all daytime soap actors and he deserves to be paid for it. I agree that the dummy that came up with that stupid ####! should give up his or her salary, or leave and let Eric have his salary as a pay raise.

All this publicity has put a real damper on a soap I have watched for 25 years - Number one soap has money issues!!! So rediculous - also sad for the other actors in Y&R who are wonderful but Y&R will loose many dedicated watchers because of this.

First of all, may I just say that CBS/Sony has made one of the biggest and most idiotic decision in production history. Don't they know that Eric Braeden aka Victor Newman is what makes the Y&R. He gives the show the whole drama effect, he embodies what daytime tv and soap opera acting should be. Without Victor it will be a dark and gloomy day in Genoa City, because their ratings will drop and they would be losing a significant amount of viewers. I mean seriously, I read that it was Eric who offered to take a pay cut and gave them a number and then dumb-@ss CBS/Sony counter-offered with an even lower pay cut. What morons!!! For Eric to even offer to take a pay cut to help the show in the "financial state" they're in although being #1 in ratings for 27 years straight says a lot, and it is a slap in the face to even tell him to take a bigger cut after he offered to do a paycut in the first place. RETARDS!! I know after November 2nd, which is the day that they have scheduled Victor to make his exit from Genoa City I damn sure won't be watching this show anymore, at least not unless they bring Eric Braeden (the one and only Victor Newman) back. Again, I agree they need to fire that Einstein who decided Eric Braeden isn't worth keeping on the show.

When I heard that victor was being let go it was like losing a family member.I think of it daily and would you please re consider.I always watch the show before going to work .I tell my husband its time for VICTOR and eveything stops in my house until the show is over..You will be losing a lot of fans including ME.....
