Richie was my Little League Coach circa 1957. The team was the Royals. I would walk from my apartment to Pelham Produce, where he would give me a ride in the Pelham Produce Panel Truck down to Parkway Field. I was a pitcher on the team. He was a great guy, always encouraging, never critical. As I have aged, I realize that he was a true mentor for me, as my father never saw me play. I have very warm feelings for Richie and am delighted to see that he is still going strong at 80 in the SAME LOCATION!
