Carter children with their mother

Evelyn was my mother. These kids were put into St. Joseph's while both parents were still living, although the father died in 1928, and the mother (pictured here) died in 1931 - shortly after this photo was taken. Other siblings went to New York Foundling Hospital and Wartburg Orphan Farm; they did not have good memories, either.

I do not know if you will ever get to read this or not but here goes,
I was at the home between the years 1947 to 1949 just after the close of the second world war, I was also in the NY fondling home in NYC and I share your Mothers feelings,
I was at St Joes for about 7 years with my two sisters and a step brother,
Sure would like to hear from you to share your Mothers time
about the home.
