Way too slow! Even their own service techs will tell you that there's nothing they can do... Until they upgrade and make the server bigger! They say there's been a ticket for that job for over a year now!

Windstream knows about this issue and told me they need a volume of people to complain in order to resolve Internet connection speeds! I called and got a monthly discount! Ever wonder why its so slow after 6pm ? Its because everyone is on around that time! Call and complain..1 888 925 5835

Theres been acouple of times that I cant even get on line. I realy cant complain on the speed mine loads up pretty good.

I called and got a free month credit on my bill ! They tested my speed and was a 0.04 instead of 3.0 meg they claim! They send service tech to your house, but he usually test it around morning until 3pm and it will test good! But after he leaves and kids and everyone else gets online after 6:00 pm ,connections too slow ! Can't even surf web! Tech told me same thing"they keep adding people to the little server and there's nothing they can do! Just call and complain! They are tired of it too!... Test your speed at www.speedtest.net !
Entry level speed is 3.0! By law they should reach at least 75% of that speed!

My internet connection dropped over 100 times in the last 2 weeks & they said they would send a tech out. The tech called today & said there is nothing that he can do because it is a latency issue & Windstream oversold thier account. Too many people & the server is not large enough.

Suddenlink offers only one mg, but i get the full one mg all the time. Windstream offered me 12 mg, and i dont even get half of one.

I have the same issues (no usable service after 5PM, 80-100 latency drops in each of the last 14 days for the past 3 months, etc). I've been told the OC3 lines from Pecos, TX to Hobbes, NM and to Dallas, TX are flat-lining during the evenings and most of the weekends.

Keep calling, once or twice a week, be polite as the Customer Service Reps (CSR) can't do anything about it. But make a polite nuisance of yourself and invite your friends to do so as well. Ask the CSR for the address you would need to send a letter to in order to get a response.

You'll need to get the address where your bills come and go from as there is not a corporate office in TX. Also ask the CSR to escalate your call to a supervisor. The more calls they have from this area, from more people let them know how large the problem has gotten.

Start a petition, collect some of your neighbors' and friends' names (any business owners would be great too) who are using Windstream and send a half-page to one-page letter addressing (politely but firmly) the complaints about the service, be as specific as you can about the problems, who you've contacted, what you have been told. Be sure to send it along with the names and addresses of those other people.

I don't know if they will ever fix this issue as there is never an estimated time for repair and hasn't been since October. But as this problem is ongoing after six months (going back to the first recorded issue in July '12 according to Windstream's tech support) I will be contacting the Texas Attorney General and filing a complaint with their office. You can do the same either online or through the mail and they have forms in English and Spanish and I suggest you do so. Again be polite!

I will be going back to Suddenlink soon if this does not change or looks like it will become better, sure it's slower service and in and of itself unacceptable in this day and age of technology, however, it was at least working last time I checked.

The service through Windstream here has become entirely unacceptable and we don't have to sit here and do nothing about it. So I highly encourage you all to take an hour or so and write that letter, then get some friends to sign on with you and send it to Windstream.

The only course of action, if nothing is done, is to swap services. Money is what Windstream is looking for and they have oversold their ability to provide service for this area in their quest for it.

Take their money away in large enough chunks and perhaps this area will receive some attention. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and it's hard for them to hear us in Pecos, TX while the offices that are supposed to be working for us are near Dallas. So go out and be heard (just don't be rude about it).

I switched to Suddenlink & could not be happier. The speed is not bad at all & it works. It has dropped twice...I called & it was back up in 20 minutes. Finally I am getting the service I am paying for.

Windstream is having major issues with there dsl, apparently pecos isn't the only place with latency issues from what I've read online. The bad thing with switching to sudden link is that they provide Windstream Internet. The buy it off them and resale it. I've talked to a sudden link tech in the area and he's told me they r maxed out to

I switched back to Suddenlink and have had no issues. So I don't think it's true that they get the Internet from Windstream. I had them both for 6 months to test and Suddenlink is way more reliable.

I just finally canceled with windstream. Its bull. Why pay for a service you're not getting. I would rather do without. You can't surf anyway

if its the same service why is it more reliable then? Suddenlin offers 1 meg, and you the geyt the full 1 meg, windstream offers up to 12 meg and you dont even get 1 meg. i myself had them both for a couple of months and got the hell away from windstream. BTW the techs suddenlink has now no nothing about sh!t, i wouldnt believe a damn thing they said, just sayin.
