Kristen Siemon's concerns are very real; I think some of the business attitudes have sunken even lower in the last six months. I called a well-known restaurant on Canyon Road for a reservation and got an answering machine telling me my call was important to them. I left a message hoping for a reservation at 6:00pm the following night. I never heard back from them until my phone rang at 7:30pm that next night telling me they couldn't take me at 6:00pm!! We didn't get the call; we were enjoying a great meal in another restaurant. Wake up Santa Fe busineses; this is not the time to take customers for granted...

I took my 90 yr old mother to Dillards last year look for earrings for a gift for someone. After a while an elderly woman came to help while the younger kids were around the cash register talking and not paying attention to the customers.
I know two people who worked for Sears for near 30 yrs...time for retirement they get fired so no benifits for them. Sears hires young people that feel that talking to each other is more important than helping customers.
While we older people who have a good work ethic can't get work the large companies rather hire younger kids who rather talk to each other then attend business.

As the most powerful man in the world, our new president should know better than to gamble his health on deleterious Texas toppings.

Absolutely! I like to pride myself in being tolerant of others with regard to sex, age, ethnicity and religion but, them thar Texans are something else. What the hel is wrong with those people, their swaggering walk, big hair-doos, big cars and syrupy talk? Their chili is the least of their ills. Now- if someone were to tar and feather that thar W. fella, I might just have a new-found respect for their politics.-heh, heh-
