President Barack Obama is acting like a person who is afraid to seek prosecution of any of the people involved in violating U.S. and international law by torturing prisoners.
Adele E. Zimmermann
I think that Obama is meeting some resistance from members of his own party. They may have voted along with the Bush administration or may have even been implicated in a more serious way. Regardless, I believe policy should pursue prosecution also but point out that the presidential office is executive, and the prosecution needs to come from the judicial branch. That branch would come from the Attorney General's office and it would be penned by Eric Holder. No one else has the authority.

Holder serves at Obama's pleasure. He's not going to disobey his boss, who's not much different than GW, beyond skin color, rhetoric, and liberal stances on social issues.
Limitless executive power with slightly more transparency and the same flawed interventionist foreign policy hardly represents change to you, me, or the innocent civilian Afghanis and Pakistanis that died this week, last week, etc.

Thank you Adele for saying what others are afraid or too starstruck to admit.
