I attend the Pecos Valley Cowboy Church and would like to add that I am not a cowboy, in fact, I'm Native American. The church is not just for cowboys and ranchers, but for anyone that is looking for a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere to worship God.

Why all the propoganda from Mr. Carroll regarding this group? Just another group of "christians" with all their hypocritical behavior left behind for a few hours. What of the "preying" they do upon others when not in their little group? Further, why the mix of religion in the news -- no news here.

"we can't enter into the presence of God on our own self-effort."

You need their help and they need your money.

A plate or hat is not passed at this church, neither is it asked of you from the pulpit. It is your choice to give discreetly.

Honestly I wish they were more Baptist in some of their ways, but they aren't.

It's an uplifting human interest story, which we need more of with all the tragedy and evil in the world.

This actually sounds more like a gospel concert with a little stand up comedy thrown in than worship.
And for heaven's sake, take off your cowboy hats inside especially at church!

We have gone a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the very simple building and service. In no way does this congregation of kind people with no fancy airs deserve these harsh comments.

Yes, save your ire for the corrupt politicians. We have plenty of them to go around.

These christians deserve our ire too. They take advantage far more than c crooked politican. Just look at the churches they build. The cowboys are just roping them for others to fleece

Critism of christians just comes with the territory of being a Christian, whether you wear boots, jeans or a three piece suit....think of what the pharisees did to Christ!!!

Hey, New Mexican Maverick! Hold on there fella! I enjoyed this article about this unusual church. Why are you so opposed to freedom of worship or just opposed to the people who worship freely?

I am thinking you might belong to a non-Prophet organization?
it is amazing

how hateful alot of people are about Christians and any reigion for that matter. If one is so disdainful then don't associate with them or anyone. This is a great country that gives each of us the right to worship or not, to associate or not, to speak out or not. think of all the countries where you would be forced to worship in one way, associate in one way and never allowed to speak out. Please go about your lives with peace in your hearts.

Don't you just hate it when some one stands up for their beliefs when you don't have anything worth standing up for.....
