If you have visited Pecos Pueblo, you would realize that this is almost a direct quote from the park brochure; except for his personal "feelings" of being there on a typically, for New Mexico, beautiful morning.

Bud, I had a similar feeling when I first visited this beautiful place. As I stood looking at the vast plains to he below the the Pueblo, I could almost hear voices and other sounds the traders and see the man camps set up as if for a holiday gathering. It is a special place.

Well as a Pueblo Man I hope that you all can see what was done to the Pueblo People. I think we should be given a formal appology from the Catholic Church for the things they did and the cultures they destroyed in there so called civilizining which was nothing more than enslaving the Native people for there own selfish greed. There was nothing civilized about what they did and continue to do to this day.

I was there a little more than a week ago, I hate the fact that the Spanish and the Catholic Church felt they had the right to "civilize" the Native people. The first of many injustices that they would suffer as the white people took over their lands. Unfortunately the same thing goes on all over the world today, countries pushing their values on other cultures. When will we ever learn? This was a beautiful but sad place to me.
