This sucks! There were a lot of people who looked forward to seeing professional rodeo in Pecos, with all the rodeo tent, tobacco chewing cowboys, etc... Although the family atmosphere is a great concept, I don't remember there ever being issues in years past with this event not being family oriented. My family and I had planned to skip our usual 4th of July plans to attend the rodeo, but will no longer be there. I guess this is more the of changes coming to Pecos....everything is changing and being taken over by non-locals!

I hope the Rodeo is a great success!!! It was great when the 4H was running it. It TOTALLY sucked when the Pecos Sheriff Posse took over. Is it really that important to have a beer tent?!! As for Roybal, wheither he is from New York or not I'm sure he will do a better job than the mickey mouse sheriff's posse ever did!

Just what we need in Pecos -- some bible-thumping group taking over community events. What a crock of crap. Belief in un-seen fairies and miraculous spells doesn't qualify you to run a damn thing.

The Roybals should in charge of a boxing ring they are a bunch of peleoneros. They can't fight one on one either.
