I thought the bond election was to build a new elementary school, yet there are no plans from the architect as yet. It has been told that dirt will not be moved until next year on the new school, while the $3 million dollar stadium work is ongoing.

Did the school board have to wait until the stadium is built to see how much of the bond money for the new school had to be used for the new field, and how much deletion of classroom space had to be done to build the elementary school on what's left?

Thomas Darden should be tarred and featherd.

I know that if they get that stadium done by football season I will be suprised & also those bleachers just aren't very big. The other ones were already too small so why are these even smaller? I'm wandering too when they are going to start on the elementary. There is no way it is going to be done for the 2009-2010 school year.

The stadium is the main focus. Heck with reading, writing, spelling.

Keep sending in that tax money. Darden needs all he can get.

TAXES TAXES TAXES!!!!Never mind that the poor teachers and students have to suffer through preparing for the ALL IMPORTANT T A K S test. Lets build a stadium to hold all the knowledge. Sports are great but when it comes to a stadium that is grander than any school building in a small town that struggles to get money to keep teachers something is wrong. Cooper doesn't have enough people to pay taxes to afford that stadium. Most of Cooper are over 50, on state help, or working a job that just gets them by each month. What I would like to know WHO IS MR> MRS. MONEY BAG>

Cooper needed a new elementary school. Some teachers at Cooper elementary have been teaching in "temporary" building for more than 20 years. The good people of Cooper ISD voted to give the children of the district a new school building but the "learned" members of the school board built them a new foot ball stadium with the money instead. Pure bait and switch. It's time we switched school board members and go to court to have single member districts so that the people who actually pay school taxes can have a voice in the education of our children.

I might suggest that they build some classrooms under the bleachers. Kill two birds with one stone.
