“It would have been nice to be in what had been a traditional movie theater all along, but we got to the point where we knew we would not get the building”
The owner of a vacant movie theater in Pearl River is moving forward with plans to convert the building into retail and office space, despite community efforts to try to bring movies back to the hamlet. via The Patent Trader

The proposed redevelopment of the theater is a joke. The proposal which includes retail and office space needs to obtain variances for Floor area, Height, and parking. The downtown Pearl River District can't handle the additional demand for parking. The developer is suppose to provide a minimum of 97 parking spaces. They are not not providing the necessary parking. Pearl River voters must vote out the incumbents who ignore the zoning laws and allow these abuses to continue.

The people of Pearl River don't need another office building. We need a place to go to other than the mall.
