I am wondering if anyone there can help with a problem -- I was an independent contractor with ANP Transcriptions there in Suffern. I live in the midwest and have no way of getting them to pay me my last paycheck in the amount of $88. They have thus far advised that:

10/19/09 telephone conversation: the check was processed on October 3, 2009

10/27/09 email: my invoice was late and the check was processed late

10/27/09 email: you should receive your check shortly.

10/29/09: still no check.

Insofar as other complaints made about this company are for non-payment for work done, I am worried they will try to take advantage of the work I did and try to get away with not paying me as they've done with other Independent Contractors.

Is there anyone out there who has advice on this matter? We are already wrapped up here in dealing with our four year old daughter's medical issues for what may be a tumor or a series of small strokes, I have no time or energy to donate to these games. Advice or help, anyone? There seems to be little I can do from where I sit except continually contact them. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB on Monday, November 2, 2009, but that is also a huge chunk of time needed, and our plates are already full. We are a single income family (i need to be at home for my daughter who has apraxia, developmental delays and sensory processing disorder, she is unable to talk at 4 years old and therefor unable to tell me what's wrong when her head hurts or if something happens to her during her day). We could really use the money for the medical costs we are incurring for my daughter's treatment. Any advice is welcome.

I am a transcriber with ANP. They pay me regularly/promptly. I invoice on the last day of the month (no later) and the check arrives shortly after the last day of the next month. Never a problem. If my invoice is sent/received after the deadline of the last day of the month, sending it on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on of the next month would be the equivalent of sending it the last day of that month... again, being paid the last day of the following month. So sending in an invoice on October 3rd, payment would be sent out to me on November 30th. This is typical payment practice of many firms I work with. Wondering if your payment has arrived yet. Good luck to you.

Thanks Commack -- they did eventually pay me after I had to threaten legal action and bring up the Labor Relations Board. I was paid a full month later. I'd not say it's an isolated thing -- apparently the accountant seems to think he can lord over people he doesn't care for. He didn't like how i left the company (believe me, i did it for their good, not mine, i need the money, have a very sick daughter and lot of med bills, and he was holding back $ that i really completely needed and worked for). My atty friend who lives in Manhattan was giving me advice the whole time, but we knew the reality was, for the small amount of the check there was no real recourse other than taking to the boards. So, i did get paid 6 weeks later. Otherwise the company was pretty good to work with, but since then I've had a lot of transcription jobs that have been oh so much better experience. I say, leave ANP and find another company and I'll know what i mean. Have a great day and thanks for your reply.

Albert Suied, is that you?:) Because that's almost the same conversation that was had w/ me on the phone in the weeks of emails when ANP decided to screw w/ one woman's paycheck... ANd lo, even though I sent my invoice on the last day of July for my Aug work... Mr. Suied (who is see is now listed as the President of the company) that I sent it in "late" but he couldn't back up that statement w/ paperwork. Very unprofessional, to say the least. I come from a management background, schooled in bioengineering, am no slouch when it comes to working, but i never lie, am a bit OCD w/ details, facts, etc., it's in my training. Not to mention, every single dollar I made through ANP, I worked HARD for so that I could pay the med bills coming through for my daughter who's 4 and needs brain surgery... And this person decided he didn't like how I left the company and decided to lie to get out of the mess he created for himself. All he had to do was his JOB, accounting -- not involve himself emotionally in my departure.

Am glad to have the chance to revisit this issue and add that I'd not recommend ANP to anyone because the bad character of some of the owners/operation there, not because the transcriptionists are less than exemplary.:) I've had a few friends who've needed transcription (Budweiser via WXRT was one of them)-- ANP will never get any business from me or anyone I know because of the unprofessional way Albert Suied handled my leaving this company.

ANP Transcriptions is a scam. They will do anything they can to scam their transcribers, scame their customers, or scam their own employees. I guess thats what happens when your company is small and independently owned. You can do whatever you want and there's not much anyone can do about it.

Anyone who is thinking of using ANP Transcriptions for anything should just move on to another company, you'll thank yourself later for it.

Hello,
I'm currently working on some jobs for these people, and I'm constantly being pressured for more work, despite the fact that I have yet to be paid for my first jobs, since they're not due yet.
Please let me know how things ended with you.
Thanks,

Do not work for these people. Do not. Their audio is crap, their team leaders will abuse you, and during the six months I worked for them I was paid on time twice. Four of the payments were late.

dear I need Feedback -- so so sorry i missed these, am wondering how it worked out for you, i'll email you if you still need, but my exp is as stated above. LMK if others got back to you, i'm curious to know other abuses ANP has committed. Companies like this will prey on people like us who are just looking to make a few bucks for our kids or for whatever, doesn't matter what for -- there are single moms out there who NEED that $88 (INFA, i am guessing you are one?) I was fortunate enough to not need the money to pay bills (it was fun money for kids), so i was and still am in a better position... I've a bioeng and law background, i woudl SO love to is company and send message to others like p being such fucking snamke oil salesmen and DO A RESPECTABLE JOB, stop stealing from the moms who give you their time!!! Larry Parsons (or whatever his name is) might be able to suit and talk it up, but he is morally equivalent to slumlord scumbag hiring idiots to guard his dog bones. I will always be happy to tell anyone how awful ANP treats its tx's...

They are going down. I've worked for them for a year and they have paid me only one check in 4 months. They owe me almost $2,000. My last contact was over the phone and Albert attempted to bully me into working for them and they would pay me for January but not for Oct, Nov and Dec. I offered to work only if they paid back pay. January (a slow month) was no my major concern. He basically told me they were removing me from the team and don't expect a response unless I was willing to help them out of their hole.
A few fun facts about myself. I pride myself on my work. I've never been late, always have done the best I could even with very poor audio and I work believe in professionalism. I held back one file to get their attention regarding payment and got scolded over the phone like I was a 4 year old. I said, pay me and it won't happen again. You screw with me, I will screw you right back.
And they're about to be screwed royally in every way possible if they don't pay me they money I worked very hard for (over the holidays, mind you).
I will not stand for this if I have to pay them a visit in person, as well as every single client of theirs.

I did work for ANP Transcription back in November of 2011. It is now April of 2012 and I am still waiting for my pay. I have been given every story imaginable from the check would be processed as soon as possible to their clients aren't payign them. I in fact find it very hard to believe that the "executives" are not getting paid or that their clients aren't paying them. I will be filing complaints with Labor Relations Board, BBB and anyone else I can think of. It is not enough money to take them to court over but I will certainly go out of my way to make sure that anyone considering doing work for them thinks twice and also make sure that their clients know that not only is ANP not paying their contractors but they are blaming their clients saying that they are not being paid by them.

That's what Larry Perrone and Albert Suied are, in fact they've given new meaning to the term. And now they're hiring new typists to get their work done, don't pay them while still not paying old, old invoices and they just keep hiring. The only way to stop them is to shut them down and alert any typists thinking of working for them that they should not -- you won't get paid or you may get paid one invoice and then you too will be joining this long list of people ripped off by ANP Transcriptions. Individually I know Larry Perrone is on Linked In and that would be another place to give them bad press. Contacting the Labor Board doesn't do any good for independent contractors. You have to go the state attorney and that will most likely happen in the state the independent contractor is in. I saw someone else make a statement about a class action. Don't know if that can be done, but I'd be on board.

To Nothing But The Truth -- I'm thinking this individual is either Larry or Albert trying to diffuse the situation. Don't think it worked, there are still too many unpaid people to believe one posting on here and I'd be willing to bet what they owe me it's not a typist but one of the two owners.

Take it from someone who used to work with Larry and Albert at ANP, these guys just try and come up with ways to screw over clients and employees. If you're thinking about working for them, don't, if you're thinking about giving them business, don't. Their office is a three room suite in an old run down converted house. They pay their "employees" barely anything and request the world of them. Worst part about their operation, they purposely perform actions to slow payment to employees to hold onto that capital as long as possible. They lie to clients about how many people work on their project so they can charge more.

Trust me, these are not people you want to deal with. They are untrustworthy.

Wow! I'm so glad I found these posts. I do transcription work for other companies, but I am always looking for new good ones. It appears that ANP is NOT one of the good ones. I will not be giving them any of my time. Thank you all very much, and I wish you all the best. I hope you are paid what you are owed.
