I have watched these dry counties all over the south, here is the main leader of the prohibition of alcohol its no surprise- THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST ASSOCIATION, they are living in the wrong era, its 2010 and they still can not accept a person having wine with their meal, could it be that they are more worried about the tithe plate and the new Cadillac the preacher is getting at the church, rather than helping others? seems so from what i've seen across Mississippi.
Wayne County and Waynesboro lose lots of money with people driving to Jones County and other places to get liquor. The SBA is interfering with my right to buy a product that is legal in the United States. You can't even follow Jewish or Catholic religious rites without wine.

Gambling is illegal. So if they circumvent that law what is stopping them from serving alcohol.

MIKE677, you don't know what you are talking about. Over 60 years ago Churches did take care of the poor, hungry and homeless, until the Federal Government stepped in and took over those causes with all of it's entitlement programs. Yes it was the Churches before then but since that time it has been the taxpayer footing the bill for all the entitlement programs because the government wanted to be seen as the savior of all these people. Churches do still help out in a lot of cases, Katrina was a prime example. Salem Heights was wonderful and other Churches as well. You are right that some Churches do hoard up money and they should not. No more than what it would take to handle normal emergencies that can come up like a new roof or new AC unit. Also, to cover or meet any expansion projects they might have. Other than that they should be using God's money to do God's immediate work. Churches for the most part do what Churches are supposed to do. The government however wants to take their place, be your Big Daddy and run your life. Don't lay blame where it doesn't belong Mike.

If Mississippi had as many factories as it has Churches then the people would be well off. Churches only suck money from peoples pockets to produce "pie in the sky by and by".

Not all of them, Some make people money. Many church parking lots in Laurel and Hattiesburg look like new luxury car lots. Those people inside are looking good on Sunday to make money on Monday.Good way on monday morning to sell that insurance or other services. Some people in there are looking for dates.

Is the casino worth going to?? Or would you rather drive to biloxi?? I haven't been yet but I heard it was small. And does the casino have a restaurant in it?
