You're kidding me?$9 an hour, right? That's it for a man or woman to put his or her life on the line for me. This county can come up with enough to bring the department up to MGCCC level.
Come on Stone County, GET WITH IT!!!!

Thats sad that or Wiggins Officers lost there lives for little to nothing pay. Wiggins did not up the pay scale until they lost their lives. Come on Stone County I am a former Wiggins Officer and I know for a fact that it would be on the County Shoulders once a Deputy is shoot.. Don't let your Deputy have to work two jobs ,just to support there families . It will a terrible thing for them to have to leave there second job and return to work and be shoot in the line of duty. Wake up .....

I believe our officers do a good job. Everyone knows they deserve better pay! That's terrible. I make more than that and i dont put my life on the line everyday to make sure Stone county is kept safe. I believe the people should come foward with their Opinion on this, They are our neighbors, wives, husbands. That should mean a lot to everyone! stand up stone!

I live out in the country and our officers with SCSO has wasted their time and gas twice on our lil road. To me it showed how much they do care for our community and the people who live here. I had been real sick , getting a divorce, just moved here with No family here, roads was grated so phones was out, and my daughter and son couldnt contact me for few hrs. and guess what ..a officer pulls up in my drive to check on me, because my kids from Laurel was worried something had happen. The Officer didnt waste no time to ride out and check it out. I dont know any of the officers but i do know they are here if i call. Also my boyfriend works offshore and when he leaves out at early morning hours ,, he see's them patrolling the lil back roads not just hwy.You deserve more...AWESOME WORK Stone County SO. THANK ALL OF YOU.

$9.00 per hour is an insult. These officers should be bringing home 3 times that amount. I'm a restaurant manager making way more than what these courageous men & women make and all I have to put up with is a disgruntled customer who insists his or her meal is not hot enough. These poor folks put their lives on the line everyday. They have to deal with drunks and drug addicts, they get spit on, cursed and shot at, and for what? So you and I can be safe in our communities and because they love their job. It's just not right. In my opinion this is no different than a sweat shop in China. Thank you to all law enforcement officers across this country and God Bless you all.
