I've lived thru' 4 recessions and to date this one has by far "out done" the others in terms of rip-offs and slick scams. I too, in desperate need of income, found "The People's Lifestyle" employment ad and immediately made contact. How great - assemble my choice of gadgets at home, on my time, and make $$$$! What more could you ask, right? Well then I began thinking that it sounded too good to be true so therefore couldn't be real...if it's so great to make extra money why haven't we heard this "great news" in all normal sources like newspaper, tv, i-net, etc.,...can I afford to get burned?...do I want to be made a fool of to enjoin my sense of desperation? So after all this thought, I called - yep, I called and the lady was so very, very nice..too nice..too accomodating...BBB loved them, directory has thousands of companies with a myriad of items to assemble...guaranteed income...guaranteed refund...need I go on? Remaining true to code, offer no money without valid justification, I requested more information. Pleasantly the lady agreed to send me the information, asked that if I decided to undertake this project, to call back and ask for her (Chris) and forward my $49.95 ONE TIME fee to her attention, and oh yes, I should hurry in my decison making because the $49.95 will go up within two weeks to at least $69.95 due to their recent inquiry demands. Well, I'm no scholar but even I can figure out that supply and demand judicates cost - if there's so much demand why would they raise their costs versus lower them which is just good business savvy, especially in this recession? Hmmmmm, thank god my mother's "look out for number one.." motto began screaming in my head ... "honey if you're going to be a fool be a damn good one - hook, line, and sinker all the way..otherwise, if your conscience just won't let you fall that hard , no matter your reasoning, then run like hell for the hills...you're probably being took in some form or fashion!..." So, I requested info be sent and I'd be sure to call and ask for Chris if I was interested. Ever so politely she said..."fine honey, but don't miss out..times are tough and Lord knows when we'll no longer be able to offer such a great opportunity!" Yuck, her sugary, all together too sincere, final comment did it for me right there!! Three days later I got the information with a self-addressed envelope to submit my $49.95 cash or credit card (no checks please!) one time fee. Red flag again - won't take checks? Yeah, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, other businesses like that - no checks for goods is widely accepted practice. But send my cold cash or surrender my credit card info and not see the goods at hand? No way! Summary of this, well like mama' said,..."honey, run for the hills!.." If this isn't a scam, then little by all means tiny pink piglets really do fly, Dorothy!

They have been in business for 24yrs, must not be a real scam. I called the company today, sent in the money they better real.

I order the catalong a long time ago there are some companies that are in bussines but there are companies that don't exist. all of them require registration fees to begin. I order from one company that i thougt was going to work out i had to pay a registration fee and order at least to kits of the product to start so i did that too with the registration fee coverd the first kit of material and directions how to assemble the product, i started with the first one that had to sended and wait for approval i sended three times and was never approved wich, got me tired trying because everytime i had to wait 10 days to recive the letter that said that i needed to make some correction, this company said that they will give you a refund if you send the material back within certain time wich i did, except the registration wich was $30.00. Its been about five month that i returned the 2 kits and still have not recieve my money back i keep calling and they keep saying someone will call me back.
all this is just a total waste of time and money, i wanted to give it a try and did not work.
if you want some fast cash this is not the way.

They have said that the money is good, and they have had NO problems. I am here reading these comments like everyone else to decide if I want to invest in it myself.

Got my catalog today! I'm going to really be looking into these companies before I commit, but I do have to say a few look promising. I'll keep everyone posted!

I also saw this ad in my local newspaper and was inquiring about this company because I wanted to find a ligitimate work at home company where I could get paid to assemble products. I'm glad I saw this post so I did'nt throw away my money to a scam. Although after extensive research I did find a legitimate company where you can assemble products at home and make good money. This company has been around for 14 years and has received no complaints. I have been working for them for over 3 months now and has taken the place my regular job I lost 6 months ago. We payed and got a little book with company names in it and info.You can just go straight to the companies and skip paying this 44.95 all they do is redirect you to the companies.I don't know if the companies are legit but I will find out soon.
