Is this a legitimate company in Slidell. Are they actually giving people at home employment that is not a rip-off?

Hope this a help for you. This company does not have a good standing with the better bussiness berue...here is what they wrote about this company.
BBB AccreditationBack to Top This business is not a BBB Accredited Business.

BBB Rating Back to Top Based on BBB files, this business has an unsatisfactory record with BBB due to 36 unanswered complaints and 5 unresolved complaints.

Our file shows People's Lifestyle, Inc. opened in July of 1986. According to information provided by the company, they started business in April of 1986. At that time they listed their type of business as "Work at Home Directory."

This company has an unsatisfactory record with the BBB due to unanswered and unresolved complaints. Our file shows the company has received an unusually large number of complaints in our three year reporting period which involved customer difficulty in obtaining a refund.

We have learned that the firm is offering a list of companies, and the consumer must contact these firms to see if there is any employment available. This firm is not an employment agency. We strongly suggest that you find out in advance the company's limited refund policy.

For further information, you may want to check with your local Postal Authority regarding work at home companies.

As a matter of policy, the BBB does not endorse any product, service or company. BBB reports are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgement and are subject to change at any time.

I have looked up the phone number on 411.com which shows the correct information and I also looked up the company under the Louisianna Secretary of State website to be sure they were registered. They are registered with the state and have been in business since 1986. They are also in "Good Standing" with the state of Louisiana. Their registered agent is Myra Carpenter at 1049 Claire Drive, Slidell, LA 70461. Its director is Maurella Norwood, 37290 rhonda Road, Pearl River, LA 70452 with a business mailing address of 1503 Gause Boulevard, Suite 102, Slidell, LA 70458. I too have called and am waiting for my package by C.O.D. Once I receive it, if I do, I will update this info to let you know if it is worth your time.

It is a scam. All of the companies listed require a deposit before you start working. They should tell you this while they read you the presentation, but they do not. They do not have a refund policy.

Once you make 'x' amount of items and whatever company you're working for realizes that you will indeed give them their products back, they refund your security deposit.

I ordered the book also for $47.95. After recieving it, i looked up a few of the websites inside to explore it before starting the work at home....and all but 2 of the work at home agencies didnt have a website it was telling me it was no longer rnning.....so what does that say? Also....ive looked up People'S Lifestyles Inc online.....and found NOTHING.... my vote is a SCAM!!!!
THEY ALREADY GOT $47.95...GOOD FOR THEM THATS ALL THEY WILL GET

Hey.

I just contacted peoples life style. The lady I talked to said some companies request a deposit from $5.oo to $50.oo not all of them. She also said the only way you get a refund is if one of the 65 companies does not offer you a job.I did the C.O.D. I will let all of you know how it goes.It takes money to make money so I am willing to take the chance.

I just called the number and talked to a woman who was polite and gave me her name, and even reccommended that I search the company People's Lifestyle online to verify their legitimacy. I told her that I did not wish to pay $44.95 for the book yet, until I "talked it over with my wife". She seemed understanding and was not high-pressure at all. So I ended the call, and typed People's Lifestyle in the search box and all it's come up with are scam reports. It sounds too risky. I have always had a gut feeling that any potential "job" that requires an upfront fee is a hoax. Who knows, though. Until I read good reviews about it, I've made my decision not to call back and order the book.
