What can we do about our neighbors boat that has been parked in front of our house on the street for YEARS.
I don't believe it runs.
They have about 9 cars or more on the street and a big broken boat that hasn't budged in YEARS.

We only have 4 people living in our 5 bedroom house, and 3 cars on the street.

Mahalo kindly for any advice :)

I used to tow "AV's for the city. HPD's stated policy is not to cite boat trailers on the street because many people make their living from their boat. That's not as true as it once was, and if you go on the city's website you can report the trailer as an abandoned vehicle and start the removal process. Forget calling them by phone, there will be no written record of your call. Using the website gives a timeline record. The ONE thing that Harris did as mayor was to make this possible. It's improved lately because Kimo's "aunty" that works for the city can't say there is no record of it being reported. Give it a couple of weeks and then report it again if there are no results, this time CC ing the mayor's office. I did this one time and the mayor himself took care of it and wrote me back. The delay is mostly due to the towing contractor not wanting to store a huge worthless vehicle on his property that he makes no money from. If that doesn't work, contact your representative. If your rep says it's a county or Harbors Division problem, remind him/her that it's the state that collects the money. BTW, I've never had to go higher than the mayor in getting this done.

Problem is everywhere wrote:
Parking problem is everywhere. For some kind of selfish reason, many many Hawaii people don't park their cars in their garages and carports. They park on the streets and make the area unsightly, dangerous for kids, and block vehicles like the trash truck.
That's because their garage contains the dog kennel, pool table, picnic table full of laundry, you get the idea. People should cement their front yard and park there instead of keeping their precious, useless fenced-in lawn.
