Who cares if he stole the car or not? He was the one trying to run over the police officers. Police officers should have emptied their magazine into this low life. I'd prefer having my tax dollars put to better use than housing criminals. When I was young, we respected police officers. Nowdays, people trash talk these officers and they gotta take it. Tough job being a police officer but many of us really appreciate your presence and hard work. Having said that, I have no problems with officers offing the more violent criminals. No problems at all.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe he didn't see the cars? Always judging people before they have their day in court.
You gotta be kidding me!! He was boxed in, front and rear. Oh yes, they didn't mention he was blind so maybe that's a possibility. Cmon, get a grip girl. You mean to tell me he maybe didn't see the cars but saw the cops? Get off the ice!

Finally some good news - I love it when HPD uses their weapons to stop the low-lifes in our community. I'd be happy to supply the ammunition!
Good job HPD!
Along with the ammunition, please consider supplying a live fire gun range as well, so our finest can get more training on the use of their weapons. I seem to recall a few news stories where the bad guy was shot, but lived to do bad another day. More training should help to get the job done properly and save the taxpayers money.

See what cars??? The cops told him, "step out of the vehicle" ...Did it occur to you he was in a stolen vehicle??, are you his attorney? People like this don't deserve a day in court, they should be capped. So they don't waste my tax $$$$$ in court. Chew on that Happy-Ass!!!

If the cops are going to shot they should have unload their whole clip. No waste time on a crook that will only get a slap on his wrist. This guy will be out in no time and ripping off again.

Ditto! But they need 40 S&W instead of the 9mm.

The Pearl City PD deserves a big hand. How come the mayor is silent? How about a show of support for our men and women of HPD. This is what happens when politicians are elected without leadership experience especially military. Visit the Pearl City PD and see the conditions these brave men and women work under. Thank God none of the officers were seriously hurt.

You think this punk was feeling lucky? Must be cuz if I shot him with my .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, he'd be dead as a door nail. Maybe the cops here should dump the 9mm and get some real guns to use on these punks!

"Amanda Fiesta ... "If it was a Furlough Friday or even last week, Halloween, Party City was crazy with kids. There were a lot of children, and they were parking by KFC. There was a lot of traffic in this place."

figures someone would use this situation to push their furlough friday agenda. lady, i was there last friday. yeah, there were a lot of people in the area of party city, but they were NOT crossing the street to park by kfc. in fact, everytime i've been to that area, i don't see many cars parked in that section of the lot. most people consider it too far to walk to where they want to go.

I know they hit center mass on their target, too bad there wasn't a head shot involved, leaving one less punk thug on the planet to steal what isn't theirs. Better yet, I wish Hawaii had CCW for law abiding, sane citizens trained in carrying a concealed weapon for defense purposes. I only hope the police considered what was in the background behind the target in case there could have been errant rounds fired.

Don't you remember that Hawaiian woman a few months back that was arrested for child abuse? She claimed the state could not charge her because she was a member of the Hawaiian Nation and the State of Hawaii had no jurisdiction. I believe she is currently behind bars, the court having found that they did, in fact, have jurisdiction.

Just would like to give a high five to HPD for the good job they are doing. Mr Lopez just might have to face the big judge upstairs. Glad to see that the officers showed restraint on unloading their clip. We have to realize that the more bullets that are fired, the more posibility of an innocent person getting shot. I hope those two others that were in the car takes this as a life lesson and changes their lives for the better. I'm tired of paying to house and feed these criminals so they can come out stronger (literally). Save some money and stop paying for cable TV, computers, internet, three course meals and weights. Let them read books, run around a track and have Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. If they want vegetibles, let them make a garden and tend it themselves. I think society is being too nice to the guys in prison. take away their metal beds, let them sleep on the ground of the cell just give them blankets and a pillow (only luxury they deserve) Just imagine the amount of money that gov't would save!
