Who were the "top 4" and who were added on? Rumors are flying that the 2 who were added on were told that they had not made it the day before and when they were added on it caused problems with the selection committee. Someone needs to ask.

Putzulu and Kealoha are both fair, intelligent, and would make excellent chiefs. They are extremely professional and have leadership qualities.

They had to bring the only female candidate back. The fix is in gang. Tandal will be the next Chief of the Honolulu Police Department. She is Camp and Mufi's puppet. She is female and lives in Waianae. It will be interesting to see if they name a Dutchman as her Deputy CHief because someone is going to need to put a finger in the dyke when the levee breaks under her leadership.

Putzulu is a joke, he is rude and abrupt despises community input and involvement and is from the "old boys" network. Flush this guys name in the toilet.

We should all ask ourselves why would the Honolulu Police Commission ask for additional names after being given the Top Four? Because Mufi's selection was not on the list. They wanted Tandal yet she was not in the top four. So Camp and Mufi concocted the story of wanting more candidates to pick from. Why not bring them all up if there is no additonal cost.

Tandal is the one seen in the Hot Tub with memebers of the Police Commission. She is the one who gets Buddy Hugs from the Mayor at social events.

That is the most absurd comment of all, Putzulu is one of the most community oriented candidates there is. He is polite, even tempered and is doing a great job. Great background, solid family person, got all the experience.

Disgusting. Naive, I know, but the whole idea behind the Police Commission is to keep this whole process non political. The mayor, whoever he or she is, should have nothing to do with the selection of the chief.
That being said, if Tandal is mufi's choice, she should be rejected, as he will be leaving next year to try to destroy the state, as he's done to the city.

That list is really only 3 people. You know the 2 mainland guys never gonna get it, and the woman, please, she has no chance to run the boyz club that is HPD.

a feamle chief might really improve things. HPD is not respected on the maianland due to poor performance and over paid officers.

Why have an advisory committee go through all that work if the Police Commission is going to add the two names that they wanted anyway, despite the advisory committee not including those names on the finalist list that went to the Commission. To keep costs down, the consultant advised the advisory committee to send three to five names to the Commission (BTW, how much did the consultant cost?). The Committee then sends four names to the Police Commission and the Commission adds two more names and makes it a list of six.

Yes, the Police Commission is supposed to select the new chief. If the Commission wanted Debra Tandal or Delbert Tatsuyama as our next Police Chief from the beginning, the Commission should have cut out all of this b.s. and picked them as the two finalists from the get go. What a huge waste of time and taxpayers' money and this whole charade about picking an advisory committee, what a joke. The Commission's latest maneuver is as political as the removal process of Chief Boisse Correa.
