Sooo There is not a Davis looking for the Captian-ship this year. WOW what to do what to do. Of the two ineptitudes that are running the lack of decision making will run the crew in the ground and closed in a year. The other ones decision making will do the same in 6 months. I guess we will get along with the Carilion Units and Newport.

Rely on Newport? What the heck are you on? The only thing they can be relied on for is scratching calls and turning things over to Carilion. Talk about a leadership conflict of interest. That screw hasnt been worth the exhaust they burn for years.

But that is a good question...then who is running?

I am on the Giles LIFESAVING RESCUE squad and I can say that it's not a screw hall as you screw balls say it is. I can say that our service is one that I would not be talking shit about. Come on people where here to help and yeah alot of checks do go to Davis ems but he teaches ems class and the squad pays for all members to attend. If you invest in a pair of glasses an equil or greater amount of checks are wrote to Romney smith which is also an instructor...and btw I'm not a Davis so don't think that. Everyone except for kaity are paramedics also referd to as paragods. That means they know their shit and I would trust my life to them over half the "doctors" in the carillon Heath care system. Come on ppl lay off and let us do our job of saving lives

Although I agree with most of what you said, using profanity to express your opinion (especially when speaking for an organization funded entirely by tax dollars and public funding/donations) cast a shadow on your organization. Also, attacking other medical professionals that work for the only emergency medical facility in your jurisdiction isn't a good idea either. I hope you are not an official spokesman for the squad.

I normally don't post on this site. But I do have to say its sad the person who is putting down Giles rescue is probably a member of the squad. I don't know how people can say that now they have to rely on Carilion trucks when mostly everyone who works for Carilion is a Giles member. It doesn't matter what rescue it is Newport or Giles. All the members are Volunteers. They are the ones who stop their life at anytime to go help someone. They are the ones who leave their family on holidays to go help people. I know the Emt and medics who work for Carilion, Newport, and Giles rescue they have big hearts and care a lot about people. So instead of insulting them you need to thank them. Because one day you may need them to help you or a family member and you may feel bad for everything you said.

With the young crew they have on weekends I will take the chance of dropping dead before I call 911 again. I have seen first hand how these girls act in public. Giles rescue should concider having a dress code. There is no reason why a rescue person should be in someone's house with their boobs hanging out. It's very disrespectful to me and my wife. Not to mention the immaturity and lack of skills the girls showed. I think someone with more experience should be running calls with the kids on weekends. Giles county is struggling to maintain a good reputation. So why do they allow their volunteers to dress provocative on calls. And why don't they have a individual on the truck to guide them? They obviously need to be supervised. Those girls were more into flirting with other rescue personnel then my health. I hope the new changes and new captain does something about this. The weekend crew is giving your rescue a bad name.

they should be respectfull. however if it was a volunteer at your house dressed provocative. perhaps she was out shopping or with her BF or driving down the road when the call went off. if your life is in danger do you really care how they are dressed as long as there using there life saving skills ? however if they wasnt focased on the problems at hand then i can see a reason to be upset.

I dont know if its the same ones but two young girls were in one of the rescue vehicles laughing and blaring the siren in Walmart parking lot weekend before last and there was no reason for it. It was very unprofessional and immature.

I am not deaf, nor am I blind. Obviously the blaring of the siren caught our attention. We watched to see if perhaps that was the case. It wasn't. They sat there while we loaded our purchase into the vehicle giggling like little school girls at themselves. We actually left before they did. It was so disappointing to see someone who is trusted with that responsibility represent themselves so poorly. May I also point out that it is very silly of you to make assumptions about the sacrifices anyone posting on here may have made to our town, our county, our state and our country. You have a lot to learn.

I suggest all you people that hate the rescue squad take some first aid training and join them, or shut the hell up. This is a VOLUNTEER unit that comes out at all hours and all weather, even when 1/2 the time the calls end up not being a major sickness or life threatening. And no Im not a member.

If your not a member then how do you know how great they are? I am a member. I can honestly say that some of the girls don't dress for the job even when they plan to sit all night to wait for tones to drop. I can understand why people are getting upset. I have been a member for years. I have seen many changes for the worse. And yes the way people act does give us a bad reputation.

I am honestly dissapointed about how people are treating these volunteers. Did anyone ask these two young girls why they did that? It was more than likely a mistake or they were responding to a call so before you start complaining about immaturity, get your facts straight! They take a lot of time out of their lives to help save lives in the community, and expecting nothing in return. And these young EMTs are trying their best to help you, so be lucky you have someone responding to your call when you need it.If you think you can do it better than why don't you fill out an application.I hope you feel better about yourself hiding behind your computer bashing an organization that is out there in any type of weather trying to help you and your community, risking their lives.

Just because someone volunteers for an organization doesn't mean you excuse their behavior. There is an expectation that they conduct themselves and represent the organization in a respectful manner.
