Pryor Gibson does not represent me or anyone in Union county. He doesn't live here OR IN THIS DISTRICT AT ALL. He does own property in Wadesboro but his primary residence is in Montgomery County. He is a tool of the corrupt Democratic machine in Raleigh and votes exactly as they tell him to vote. He comes to Marshville once or twice a year and kisses the asses of people trying to get their votes. All he knows about this area is what his Democrat friends tell him. Other than that he couldn't tell you where 218 went without a map and he has no idea where Gold Hill is or why we need help from the DOT in Marshville. He Fricken don't live here and don't give a damn about any of us as long as he gets his check from Raleigh. I'm not saying vote for Barker as much as I'm saying don't vote for the idiot from Montgomery County!

As a yellowdog I'm reluctant to vote for a Repug but Gibson has got to go. I'm hoping and will vote for Barker to upset our non-represenative so the Democratic party can put up a real candidate FROM UNION COUNTY in 2 years. I'm sick to death of Gibson. The only time you hear of him or see him is 3 to 4 months before the election. Then he makes his blitz to see the editor of the Home-News and paying for his "religious" ad that runs all year in the paper. The editor, in return writes his yearly column about Gibson making up wonderful accolades.

The truth of the matter is this. Gibson doesn't give a rat's behind about Union County. He doesn't live here and, as the Repugs have said, he doesn't even live in the district he represents. My party will have to take the blame for Gibson's being our represenative. We've got tons of blind yellowdogs in Anson County that don't know what or who they are voting for. They honestly feel they are doing their patriotic duty by voting straight ticket Democrat. They buy into the myth that the party would never put up a bad guy. Let's hope they stay home on election day.

I thank all of you for your support in the last election. You may not know that I won in Union but he won bigger in Anson. Redistricting is this term and I do not expect to have Anson in this district. See you in 2012....

Glad to hear it John. Bonding eastern Union to Anson was clearly partisan gerrymandering by the Democratic controlled state legislature. I won't knock Gibson much. He just couldn't connect with Union County voters. A lot of Democrats didn't know who he was. He didn't help us in Union Country but more importantly he didn't hurt us. Having our own representative who lives in the Marshville - Wingate area will be a huge improvement and best of all we will be represented who knows us and our problems.

I appreciate the fact that you do not disparage Mr. Gibson. I have never run a negative ad about my opponent nor will I.

Just heard a rumor that Rep. Gibson doesn't like being in the minority and is resigning to take a position in Bev's office. Is it true?

There was a good comment on the EJ online article which said (paraphrasing) that Gibson was recieving a reward from Queen Bev for being a loyal Democrat and voting with the Democratic power brokers in the house.
